    Cool sketch book NIckyB

You seem really dedicated, I like your sketches, especially the random ink doodles, like the ones from june 13th, very cool! Guile looks great man - nice work! Your comic panels are also really fun I like those too.

One thing that really stood out to me is you do a lot of stuff from a head-on camera angle, like the character is square to the camera. In a portfolio that will be very noticeable - and if you draw too much like that in can hinder your ability. (not saying you do, but just sayin..)

I see you post a lot in the weekly challenges, good luck with those I try to do them too when I can.

    Nice sketchbook, thanks for sharing!

thanks guys!! replies are coming in the next post i swear!!

for now, i just needed to post this in here, and i should probably post it on my first page as well, this is just some awesome advice by one of my heroes in this business, mr. Darren Yeow. he is a true inspiration!

"Something I learned when my career was in the shitter:

Wherever you are in life right now, there is something you can specifically do at this point in time, to either make your life better or worse.

In times of despair, this should provide solace - no matter how bad things are, as long as you still draw breath, there is a single step you can take immediately, that will elevate you, even if slightly, above where you were before. After that, there is another and then another and another. String enough of these together, and you'll increase your chances of knowing success.

In times of abundance, this should evoke a measure of caution - no matter how good things are, and how bright they seem, there is a misstep that you can make that will erode everything you've worked so hard for. After that, there is another and then another and another. String enough of these together, and you'll probably increase your chances of knowing failure."

kevin_ - thanks man! the whole thing is a work in progress haha.

Fernteixeira - thanks a lot man!! i understand you fine, except im not sure what you mean by HQ?

Lakai - thanks man! haha thats my biggest (one of anyways) problem area at the moment... is having the patience to actually continue a piece after i have stopped it. or to continue a work in progress. i have a horrible tendancy to give up on everything i do... meh. dont really know how to get past it.

Aaron_ - thanks man! yea i should really finish him...

ok heres a quick collab i did with a fella i met on facebook through mutual friends. blake (SMILEFACE) started a really awesome fb page dedicated to collaborations between artists. anyone can post somehing to offer up, or can grab anyone elses work to take a stab at. i chose this guy's sketch. Haytham Mustafa. he had a very solid base to work from, and i only did the colors, so he gets most of the credit on this one!

anyways if anyone wants to check out the collaberative art page, and hopefully join up, you can view it here :

and this is Haytham Mustafa's page -

Love that rocky guy - the colors and the texture is so so awesome!!

I suggest trying to use larger brush strokes on your enviro studies - right now things are appearing pretty sketchy.

    Keep it up!
