    Smile Robot in flames

    Hi,
I'm finishing up this piece and would love to have feedback and critics before I wrap it up. I still want to add more 'fire' bouncing light onto the robot and do some cleaning... but what do you think ?...

    Rainbow sabers. Cool .

Anyway, I think the fire in front of him could do with a bit of softening, right now it seems extremely hard and edgy, and also very static. As you can see here and here, fire does have round, soft edges and is often a bit blurry. I think you could keep some of the current flames to really give the impression of a blaze, but parts of it could use some softer edges.

Assuming that the robot is made of metal, it could use some harder highlights around the edges.

Other than that this looks pretty damn cool though.

I live in San Francisco yunno - no, more seriously, this painting is part of a series of video game consoles turned into robots. This is supposed to represent the PC Engine Duo which was a CDRom system. So the rainbows sabers are there to illustrate that

Lhune, thank you so much for your feedback, your comments are great ! You're totally right about the flames, I need to make them a lot softer. I'm also missing a lot of specular highlights on that guy. Thanks again !!!
