Teen Challenge 71: [[Denizens of the Reformatory]]
TEEN CHALLENGE 71
Anyone ages 13-19 may submit an entry at any time before the deadline. Please host your image on a remote image-hosting site instead of uploading it to the CA server. This makes it much easier to transfer it to the poll thread.
Taken from Hoboken's 'Prison Break' theme, edited by myself
"Denizens of the Reformatory" basically meaning: people in a prison... the focus of this challenge is to create a character and represent them, the only specific, they have to be in a prison, likelihood is that they will be one of the incarcerated or even a warden or simply a worker. Try and give the character some depth as opposed to creating a generic tattooed shaved headed buff guy, try and show a lot of detail into the character, even if it is done through text on the image... the prison can be a nice fancy modern place, a dank dungeon of villains or a futuristic alien hold.
(Any media is allowed)
1. Add a border around your image with your name and the topic, like they do with the other of the week challenges.
2. Please do not use attachment manager, but outside host your image.
3. Mark your final as final.
Wednesday 16th of September, 2 weeks.
Hope no one is too annoyed by me grabbing the reigns, as am likely to participate, to attempt to show my trustworthiness i have chosen another person's theme and only slightly edited it![/I]

no real suggestions thus far, looks nice, but it'd be nice for mor details as opposed to that speedpainted look... so either obviously finer details or smaller
but hell it's a WIP so you're likely planning it anyway!
don't forget to post your final using an external host people, will make the job easier

Denizens of the Reformatory - WIP & Final
Well here's my shot for this time
I really like what you're brewing on Jatherip

Awesome stuff Jatherip I suggest even less meat on the arms and maybe try adjusting the expression. It's interesting how dead but fixated he looks but that's more a zombie look. A prisoner that's gone though that much would have a disconnected expression. They would be looking though us, not at us.
Looking forward to the finished product.

Hey guys, heres a quick 30 minute thing I'm chucking up, thinking about ideas and whatnot, needs a bit of work but yeah. crits aboard.
The ideas a guy holding himself up while constrained by the forearms with two giant mechanical arms in a huge lit up room (thus no BG arm - and if there is it will be dim).

does anyone else in here think we should bring back the weekly teen challenge?? i mean everyone should have a few hours in a whole week to paint something and if missing one TC isnt really bad, is it?
September 13th, 2009 #19
I agree with Jatherip, actually. It would keep people fresh and circulate more interest because of the different topics.

A weekly challenge is definitly a good idea

a weekly challenge sounds rather hard for the small range of people involved in the teen challenge... seeing as most (about 5) only do it in the last week after moving rather slowly along...
but i'd be keen otherwise
i'm unsure if i'll be able to join this one... got an idea for something fast ... but i've been spending a lot of time recently on school work and this: http://kraken-steelklaw.deviantart.c...nder-136986081

Not like I'm ever gonna post anything other than WIPS, and I need stuff to amuse me.
OFFTOPIC: Jerik, that's neat. But you seem to have an obsession with backlighting.
