just some morning exercise. a strange machine-man i met in dreams.

Porg: thank you haha, i'm hoping i'm not using colors that are too bright/saturated now, but it's fun pushing myself out of comfort zones at least.

Faulks: thanks! glad you liked the bandaged man, he's a character in a story i'd like to illustrate someday.

Serio: thank you, i think i rely too much on 'our reality' for creature design, even though we do have crazy critters.. so taking that into account i'm trying to go for wilder alien creatures

    MLE: you too~

Clockworksnail: i don't really have a DA, but i don't think i exactly draw very unique

hey machine sorry for the late reply man! about the line issue, everything you said makes a lot of sense, zooming out and all but I still cant get it right, maybe its just because my tablet is too big (9x12 intuos3) I'll have to keep trying, thanks a lot for your help!
for the ship I used a default photoshop wet brush, started with black & white making a random black block and then I started to cut edges until I found a interesting shape, defined it some more and then I added a general colors on a multiply layer, I added the last color touches on a normal layer on top.
finally for the crisp effect I added a filter, cant remember wich1 exactly I think it was "added edges" (dont know if thats the name for it on the english version, I work with th spanish ver), I did pretty much the same for the gundam. thats all
your last updates look great, you are getting better fast! may I ask why you use Sai instead of photoshop, does it have any advantages? also how do you make that smoke effet that comes out of your last character's head? it looks great!
