For the next two weeks we're running a cross over with CHOW, featuring a brave naval hero in an epic sea battle.

You have three options with this contest:

    a) Do a more illustrative piece and combine chow & eow and meet the requirements for both contests in one image (a battle on a quarter deck, for example)

    b) do two illustrations seperately, one with a naval battle, and one just with the hero,
    CHOW link here http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=166407

or c) only do one of the two - you don't really need to do both, but it'll be more fun!

    Battle

    Great work everybody!

I really liked learning about this topic and would love to continue making more images related to this theme. I wanted to create a dynamic environment and so I choose to show the bow of the ship with a neat figurehead rushing into the scene. Enjoy

Hey CHAOS I'm posting the work of FALKEDWARD, he's a friend of mine, he has posted his work on CHOW, but I think he has forgotten to post it here too (as he's new to the forum).
But I guess they won't be a problem if I upload it here for him, just don't put my name, it's his work ^^.
    Thanks

Excellent work everyone! Really impressive effort and a difficult choice too. In the end I went with coldrum's pic for the sheer oomph the explosion gives to the already outstanding atmosphere of the pic. Well done.

I accidentally voted for my own piece... any way to undo that?

    Sorry for the trouble.

Had fun with this one... I spent more time researching and learning about the battles than doing the actual painting lol , thanks for the comments. My vote went to Falkedward .. great attention to detail, colour and a solid composition
