    Finished concept.

I did studies today too but sadly those are in my sketchbook as well. I'll scan them when I'm able to.

Looking good dude, I think the saturation could be varied slightly, but strong studies. Keep em coming.

    Kaztx: Thanks
RandAlThor: Thanks! Could you explain more about what you mean with the saturation? I'm not quite sure if I understood you right on that one.

Sketching out ideas for the next card.. I thought up some wooden art type creature but I didn't like the image in it's whole so I'll redo it and develop it further..

Work in progress; master study (repin). Far from finished.

Sorry for my sketch-scan constipation, at least the result is a huge dump.

    ALSO

Go check my friend's sketchbook he's very new to CA: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=171260

    Hey Loathsome

I think you made a wise decision to start doing some gesture, it should significantly improve your body sketches and your sketches in general.

In some of your last digital studies, I notice that you may not be carrying over your gesture enough. Try to implement your gestural drawing into your digital sketches and painting.

Watch your proportion as well. For example, redraw your pencil sketches, and keep flipping the canvas in your digital ones, force yourself to redraw something which doesn't feel right to you.

Keep some reference on hand when you're checking for proportion, it isn't cheating, it just keeps things in check, and people are going to notice if something looks odd. It's easy to compare your work against some reference to make sure things are looking more or less okay.

Kungfoowiz: Thanks man, I appreciate your comment. Yeah, that proportion thing has been pissing me off a lot lately. I keep making people too short. I try to get them 6.5-8 heads tall but either they get 5 heads tall or 6.5 so I think I might need to do some of those proportion charts again. I also haven't done gestures much so yeah.. totally need that. Thanks a bunch for the comment, mate.

    Hey bro

Not bad for the moment, there are some issues but I think you should keep going despite these.

I think you could start with smaller, more focused studies for the timebeing. For example, just drawing the torso.
    Then legs, arms, and heads.

You could gesture a torso, beginning lightly with your pencil, so that if you do make mistakes, it's almost effortless to rub them out. You also won't get emotionally attached to your drawing and like them, even though there may be mistakes in them.

As your drawing takes shape and it fairs well against your reference then you can start pressing harder with the pencil, building up more confident lines.

Kungfoowiz: Thanks for the crit man, I'll keep it in mind! I drew this with a ballpoint pen so I couldn't erase anything That's also why the lines are so harsh. I should do it with pencils.

    Thanks!

These are character sketches for cards I'm going to do. I'll start working on them when the guy approved any of the two.

And that's all I have to show at the moment.. I have some sketches to scan when I get home tomorrow. I'll post more studies tomorrow

it's great that you're doing so many anatomy studies dude they'll help a lot in the long run still a couple issues with proportions but you'll get the hang of it soon enough cool start with those character designs man, can't wait to see what you do with them

    DRAW UNTILL IT HURTS
    AND THEN DRAW SOME MORE

    Hey Conny

Mmm, looking at your previous master studies (http://conceptart.org/forums/showpos...&postcount=173), you may want to spend a bit more time on them. Study things like the overall construction of the face first I feel, really get that nailed. Do one good one rather than many quick ones.

I like some of the sketches here (http://conceptart.org/forums/showpos...&postcount=172).
I feel these are better than your latest master studies, because you seem to have thought more about the placement of features and considered some interesting shading in the sketches.

I see a bit of drift in those skulls, watch that kind of stuff going on.

The latest painting study (http://conceptart.org/forums/showpos...&postcount=176) is looking fair.

Kungfoowiz: Thanks for the crit. I have no clue what you meant with "drifting" but thanks. And I'm sorry that I can't make awesome masterstudies lol

small preview on a painting I'm working on, I won't post the full piece before I'm done with it. It's one of those long going paintings. Just to show that I'm working on something.
