    Danny_K: Thanks! I will.

FlaviusChis: Wow thanks a lot. I'm glad that I'm able to inspire somebody haha!

Dan liimatta: I see what you mean. I think when I started it I had no idea what to make. So I just started with a ball to do a head of something and it just kind of snowballed. I use different approaches for heads, I don't know why I ended up doing this just now.. I do it sometimes when I create prettyboiz and gurls because then everything has to be aligned perfectly and whatever but yeah.. it does look a bit too animeish. But I can't deny that anime had a great impact on me and I wouldn't be surprised if it shows in my art. I've had the problem with generic heads, actually. I might go for something more organic next time.

    --

This is a video I did a while ago.. so it's not really new, I was just able to render the video recently. I had problems with it for so long. But here it is!

Me flipping through my recent sketchbook.. it's filled with crap!

Interesting way of showing the sketchbook - and nice to see all the studies you have done

& it didn't get as generic with the troll for example - and I was more questioning the method than your work (even if the elf head in quesiton was rather generic - but then I do generic things too ~ )

I think I'm just a bit too sold on random scribbles to make something of than starting out with a structure - might be why I take so long on my pieces ~ and I was thinking back on my heads and how generic many of those have been, especially how I've often done the same nose/eyes/mouth and I think that what you are doing with the studies is remedy enough for that (and I've done too few).

Nice stuff! Cool videos! You have a very sensually seductive hand! Would be cool to do something like that.
Anyway, keep uip the nice work!

dan: yeah. I think my genericness has a lot to do with lack of experience and knowledge too. I end up using formulas for things instead of relying on structure.

kungfoo: Yeah it took forever to fill too. I guess that's why there's so much crap in it.. I just ended up not giving a shit.. which is for the better I suppose. Then I loosen up and don't care what people will think about every single drawing in there.. cause I'm not obligated to show anyone anything.

alexon: Yeah it's a lot of fun to do them.. but man, I get a bit nervous trying to come up with something decent sometimes lol. You should try it though, it's fun to see how you actually draw.

    ------------------------------------------

Man tinypic is so much better than imageshack.. no resizing!
Anyway.. here's some gestures I did from some mma site. It's fun and I feel like I learn a ton so I'm going to keep doing them for a while longer.

Do you feel like you learned a lot from the fighting sketches? I've been considering doing some myself...

    ste - thanks

FlaviusChis - Thanks. I don't know. That would mean that I'd have to trim them because I can only put up clips that are 10 minutes long as a maximum.

CountBlackula - Yeah I did. I'm going to do them again too. They are great for action poses because it's the real deal. But, draw the once that has the most energy. Unless you're doing them for anatomy.

love the studies - really nice colour and strokes - esp. on the snail and fish.

& I agree - I often feel that when ever I have to do something I haven't done a lot it turns out something generic and I just want to never do it again - but after some pieces in a similar vein it gets better.

Been working on this today (plus anatomy) Going to finish it tomorrow. It's for a concept-competition over at DA.

Looks promising - I like the face and chest - nice look on the tentacles coming from the mouth area.

The one negative I have - even if it's not done - is the weight - it looks a bit lighter than it should - as in how the snake body meets the ground and how large the claw looks - but you were going to look at the anatomy and you can probably ignore this text then.

    Thanks guys.

    -

Totally butchered this concept, ended up like a pile of shit. But what can you do, sometimes you fail completely.

I might get back to this piece because I kinda liked the idea of it. But if I do I'm going to draw over it and add the colors from the start.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this here? but.. whatever.
It's a breakthrough for me and I'm too exited not to post this.

Made in a game called SPORE

    I'm uploading this because:

Playing this game has really guided me on the right path.. how weird is that?
I've had a hard time trying to figure out what I want to do and what I would like to do.. what style I'd like to go for. So after playing this game for a while, it really made me realize that what type of designs I really love and want to do.. I really love stuff that are fun to look at, cool looking designs but not childish. Just like the examples I just showed you (done by me of course).

So you're going to see some art from me looking something like this.

I'd totally suggest this game for anyone btw.

That is all, hope you didn't mind this post.

    Laters!

    Kungfo: Yup, thanks!
    weeney: Thank you mayn
    parsakoira: will do, thanks!

Ink stuff, in order of creation.
This was just an experiment I ended up really liking. I'll be making more of these which hopefully will get better with time. It's a lot of fun to play around with. It's all ink and water and some water color here and there for color.

Sadly you can't really see the greenish gray the ink turned into when I added the water. It had a really nice effect.

some alien sketch thing.. didn't finish it, it needs more form.

I did some mma gestures too but I don't really feel like posting them. They are pretty much the same as the other ones.

Nice updates loathsome, your mma fighters are showing a lot of improvements through gesture but then your imaginative characters are lacking with poses, even if it just messing around we still gotta apply what we've learned or we'll lose all its goodness!

Hey bro, ah yip, some of those low values don't really come out in the scanner to they.. it's a pity.. Maybe add one or two more colours to your palette for the alien.. if you feel it doesn't have enough form.. but just a suggestion.. Thank you for sharing your work =)

fudge: you're totally right, I should start doing that.
kungfoo: I think you might be confusing value with color. It's not the color that's not turning the form (although it could use some different colors to it), it's the value that isn't pushed enough, that's why it looks flat. But I'm not going back to it, it's a quick thing I did at night.

    ---

I've been away for a week to celebrate a friend that lives 2 hours away from me. That's why I haven't been posting anything. I haven't been able to do much stuff over there, this is all I have to show.

I did a crab for some kid at his place. He named the crab "the crusty crab" I didn't take a photo of it though

Well it happens - the butchering :/

& centre guy in the last update is adorable

& about spore - check out the mods for it that gives you more freedom to create - and also the various creations that use that - like some really nice dragons etc. but also other creatures like .

Not really tried it save the vanilla version - but looks nice. (I'd mute the music btw )
