Thanks for all the comments guys. As for the proportions, it's definitely a choice so I'm kinda glad that you actually noticed the big legs.
I won't answer in detail to all the comments about the (numerous) flaws that I'll gladly admit. The image is far from perfect as pretty much everything I do :-) Usually, I tend to jump (No pun intended) on the next one rather than try to fix every minor thing because you can spend a lifetime trying to nail everything. Again, I do appreciate the valuable feedback though.
As for the sexist/tasteless debate, kaktuzlime, then I guess it's very personal to each individual. Some people are more easily offended than others, and even though it is not my intent to shock, I won't do anything either to tone down what I feel right. The bottom line is that I wanted to do a rather outrageous, erotic charged image, and this is what I did. As you may notice, most people actually saw the girl as a strong character, which tends to make me think that it's no demeaning. What is my message? Guess what? It's pin-up art. No message. I just painted a very stereotypical fantasy that turns me on. It ends up being a bimbo cop with big boobs, which I totally assume. Guess most people saw that too, which I'm happy about ;-)
Just wanted to make a quick update with a new girl but I felt I needed to share something too. I've been repeatedly contacted by this guy who acts as a rep for pin up artists. After looking up on the web, I dug out some pretty controversial stuff like he put his own name on other people's work and so on. So I politely turned him down.
I mean it's probably nothing. Maye the guy was falsely accused I don't know so I won't put his name here to harm him if he is ok. But I'll feel better if some people know I did my girls in the first place. So please guys if you stumble on a Flowermilk girl with any other name on it please let me know because right now I'm doing that for fun and there shouldn't be anyone making money with it...
nice sweat gurls you have on your style/inline of fun),
though in the first image, her right arm through her forearm seems a bit smaller compare with her left and kinda broken elbow it should be straight like her left , if they have the same ground line base on the baton her holding, eventhough she is in a contrapposto it desn;t mean it has a different point of perspective, but it should have a twist which make both her arms should not be like that with equal lenght on the baton, sorry i just can't put my english grammar correct hehehe...but i know you know what i mean.
i notice also you were overwhelmed by her tits that you just don;t care about her upper garment. how it should go with the flow of her tits and the wrinkles plus on her shoulders , .... this is still on the first image. nevermind...
but on the second image, wow fantastic. i rest my case.
hope to see more, and yes will let you know if i found one of your work with different signature...btw what is your signature anyway? flowermilk?
Thanks so much for taking the time to post all this feedback (and to everyone else). It's very important for me to get all the criticism I can get. From what I hear on the first two girls, there seems to be a lot more obvious flaws in the first one, which is better that way than the other way around :-)
At that point I collect and carefully write down the feedback but I'm going to wait some more before revisiting the images. I'm very new at painting girls and I feel that I learn with each new one. So with a few more under my belt, I'll hopefully be more successful at fixing stuff later on. Also, I want to wait until I get a more distanced perspective myself. Hopefully I can keep getting better at this and that second one was not pure luck ;-)
Yes I sign Flowermilk. Don't ask why I don't even know myself. I just felt I wanted everything to be cute about the paintings, even down to the signature. For some reason this little pseudonym sounded sexy to me.
I'll keep the thread updated as I go.
