Ah, finally got sometime to upload some updates

Here's some digital inks and washes on photoshop, experimenting with its brush engine to mimic ink scratch, stroke, blots, drips, stains and washes. also to make one brush that feels like that scratchboard tool in Painter.

Hey witcrack! I can see that you haven´t diminshed your craziness and imagination even a bit (that´s a compliment).
My favorites are the alien Santa and teh Hollow moon, but all of them are really eye-catching. I love to see that you are drawing a lot.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello since I hadn´t been here for a while.

Those boring normal things are from imagination, while those monsters are from life observation Well, gotta grab that pencil and paper more. I'm getting rusty.

So, I'm also working on somebody's wedding now and told to design some interiors, the project manager want me to do it cleaner than how I usually do my sketches and so I did it. Now, the client wasn't aware, but I think they looked sloppy and off, aren't they?

Hiya Loving your sketches and your ink textures, especially the Delirium lettering and the guy with the big pink head, was he Photoshop too? The family affair picture stands out, great composition and characters and the concept sketches you did for work are really cool, is it for a game?

Intersting stuff in your updats. I really like the painter stuff. I can´t wrap my head around it. It just does not make sense to me. Plus my machine is too old to run the new stuff. (whaaa-haaa-*sniffle*)
I do like the dwarf too. I´ll be back.

Angela: Thanks mate. The pink headed guy is done in PS, yes. The concept sketches are for a musical play. I did a lot more, but the team only agree for me to post those few. Maybe a few more next time... when we feel secure. heheh.

and p.s: I just can't help but to let it rule, because common sense is so blaaaaand! (i don't even know what "the back kitchen" means lol).

wolf: Thank you friend Actually, I think most recent graphic softwares are ridiculously heavyweight! It's the bane of all digital artists to cope with, I guess... heheh.

    gthm/death: Thank you!

Kristoff: Thank you! I'm really really really glad to see you here Keep it up you too, friend

Well, I finally managed to slip sometime to do some life drawing around the town with some friends and I guess we just formed a sketch group. Yay! Here's from yesterday's session:

I could've sketch a lot more than this, given the time (it's all day long!), if we were not get distracted a lot

Well here's a couple of things I just did tonight, mainly rendering practices. I think I'm gonna try to finish the second piece (or at least pushing it as far as I can).

crits and/or comment anyone? I really need opinions, especially for the last piece (the hobo with large bags).

EDIT: i just noticed, that hobo's pose is less interesting than the original sketch (in previous post, last pic)... maybe it's the way his head was tilted before. hmmm... cocky hobo... might be fun to paint!

those life studies are great man, but you should apply what you learn from them. That green goblin is so headheavy that the neck supporting said head is way too thin. The whole thing looks off in terms of the anatomy. The color job is good thou. MOAR.

    Hey man, how you been?
Thanks for dropping by my SB.
I like how you've rendered the goblin so far, but I think you could really improve on it's facial anatomy. See what muscle goes where and does what, bones underneath etc.
You're right on the hobo, the tilted head gave him a pinch of character, but now you have just a dude in a very uninteresting pose. Try to make the lines and forms more interesting, and see if you could get a more if not dynamic, but either way interesting pose to narrate his character.
Keep it up man, you rock.

wolf and rotor: thanks for your crits guys! you are awesome!

I agree with the goblin's anatomy. It was a cartoon sketch, though (but I agree, even for a cartoon, I could've chose a better pose). I first thought it might be interesting to render a cartoon realistically, well... it is, but apparently it's not working for this one. Wrong decision

As for the hobo, the challenge is to render the rough sketch but still retain its characteristic.... since, I feel, I tend to mute my sketches whenever I painted on them So thanks rotor for the suggestion. I'll keep that in mind

BUT SADLY, no hobo for tonight. Works are in the way. This is the only one I can manage, peeping through my workroom's window...

ahh I like those sketches from life a lot - especially the one in pencil of the guy holidng a bag (of rubbish is it?)

Anyway, keep on working hard, I know what its like to get distracted when I'm supposed to be drawing!
