Hey, awesome pencil work!!! So cool to illustrate a book... I want to see more pencils from you!
Duellen is funny ^^ And I love how you did the tree in värdshuset. That picture is really nice, I like the feeling of it. And the symbolism stuff is great. Love them all.

DStrax - Thanks! which paintings do you mean? my digitals or the oil ones? .. for digitals I paint with some naturla brushes and treat the painting like a real canvas. going on with 100% opacity and thick strokes like you would with oil.

    Mischeviouslittleelf - Thank you!

Mokinzi - thanks dear. I have tons of pencils waiting to be scanned.. bare with me
    thanks again!

Monotony - Thanks man! I'm not planning on taking it any further.. I feel more rendering would ruin the flow and controlled chaos

Wow thanks for the feedback! I'm so sick and tired with myself.. These weeks have been tough.. I've finnished 3 major projects, illustrating the book, finnishing 2 big paintings for our exhebition(photos to come) and had a dance show (yes I dance, cool guys draw, really cool guys draw and dance).
Now that I have lots of spare time to put on the small things, like some homework.. some drawing etc. I end up doing nothing, just sitting infront of the computer wasting life.
    Something needs to be done..

Anyway.. long time since I did a dragon, 2 hours work so far.
I've found a way of painting now that really fits me. Linework - quick wash in gray - lay down basic colours, and starting rendering on top Also.. working with so much oil these past days have really given me lots of new insights on how colors blend and to push contrast.

    AvisNocturna - thank you!

We're having an exhibition with our class, and other people who have art as a subject. Went and photographed the two of my paintings that are there.

Edited in photoshop, painted with water-soluble Oil. Canvas ~ 85cmx60cm, they might take a while to load.. filesize is near maximum limit.

    Really enjoyed painting them!

Aggh! You make me want to draw, seriously! Those gestures are too sexy, just make sure to tighten the proportions, and more importantly, work on the volumes of those girls' torsos, they need adjusted. They look a little flat, I know you'll fix it in the next step though, keep it up!

wow.. what an apparant progress you've made in this thread, definately inspiring to see. You've got a sharp eye for colors and values, I wish I had that. I guess you could be a bit more economic when it comes to lines when you sketch, oh well I don't know..

Förresten, är jag också svensk!! Eller haha tekniskt sett så är jag visserligen ålännig (finsk), men jag bor i Stockholm för närvarande.

that fuzzy creature with the purple horns is super hawt. seriously awesome!

I also like the oils--they look different in terms of style/execution than your digital paintings, though.

Man Made God - Thanks.. I'll try to pick this piece up again.

Sevarenge - Tjena! svarade i din sb jo jag känner några till .. alltid kul att stöta på fler!

Tigermilk - Thanks! I understand what you mean with the lines and stuff.. I know. Been thinking about it aswell. I like to scribble randomly before defining shapes hehe, it gets messy tho..

Oden - Thank you! haha yea he is my favorite. When it comes to traditional painting, I'm so unfamiliar with it.. I have this constant feeling of "damn, don't mess up now". It's restricting and hides my normal style. I guess I'll have to just paint a lot more and for each painting I do "right", expect to do 10 "wrongs"..

Havnt been here in a while.. wow things changed. I like it.. havnt been drawing in a long time.. By the end of this week school's gone for ever! university and painting next haha. Will have to start drawing and painting for real during summer..
sorry will have some updates soon.

    Hello Chris!

I haven't been here recently! I hope I will compensate the missed comments... I hope.

The poses are a bit messy but I think this is part of your style, thats how your brain tries to figure out the expression of the body forms. I think you must continue drawing more poses and first of all you must do some different body types and try to portray them from different angles. The perispective is the key to opening a new world. Try to catch the feeling of every movement. There are no baoundaries in the art... thats why the art itself is eternally.

Just keep pushing, keep pushing I will be watching you! - g

clanlord - George! thanks for the nice comment. Yes im aware its a bit messy, thats how I like to work.. just havnt found a way of brining my work to a more refined step yet. When I have the heart to put my soul into art again, I'll take everything into consideration right now thought I need a break.. to seek out new perspectives and inspiration. cheers!

Dramatic title, I know haha. It's not as bad as it sounds.. I've finnished my last year of highschool now, and freedom awaits.
I've had this sketchbook for a bit more than a year now, and I'd like to thank everyone who has commented. Words are not enough to tell you how much help you've been for me.. it's hard to push oneself when one doesn't know in which direction to go, but your inputs have pointed me in the right direction, thank you.

After showing some stuff I've done in school this past year 08-09 I've decided to take a break from art, and when I am ready to really dedicate myself, create a new sketchbook.. so this will be my last artpost in this SB. Thank you so much for walking by my side, and have a great summer.. hopefully see you at the workshop in august

    Hello from me!

I am very happy that you are showing your weak sides. It is obviously that you must draw some more face studies. Otherwise all the things are great.

Man your imagination and color scheme is always very amazing in my eyes. For now push your weak sides - set off a day, sit and think which things are difficult for you to express. The problem in which you can imagine the pose in your mind but you cannot put it on a paper is often met. I say it in principle. I saw Mr.Delicious saying something about the problems we meet in art through our journey and here is the phrase that got my attention (with my words) - If we do not find our mistakes while drawing - so we are not learning. And that is bad.

Sorry for the brief comment soon I'll try to point out some things that might help you. For now have a great times in this week. Stay alive in CA - g

Man Made God - I never left. Thanks stopping by once in a while, kicking my ass and showing me that life is something else than what we're told it is.

Mokinzi - Thank you so much. I definitely have some memories I'll never be able to forget, not even if I wanted to take care

Clanlord - I cannot blame you, I have nothing for you to comment on.. it is my fault. Thank you very much George.
I have many weaknesses, and the human face and expressions is the one I have to work with most. Up until almost 2 years ago I never drew humans.. I have yet to learn so much and I am so happy there's so much more for me to learn. That's what makes life interesting in the first place.. growing by learning.
We will definitely see each other here again. Before you know it I'll invite you to never before seen pages of my mind.

    Lotet
    - Thank you! yes it's been a long time since I visited you. Havn't been watching anyone really, I promise to come by soon aswell!

My57 - Thanks! The good and evil piece has an honorable place in my "unfinished dreams" folder. I'm not technically capable of finnishing it yet.. I hope to dream it once more.

    batcustard - Thank you kindly!

Thank you everyone. It's been months since I wrote anything here.. once in a while a withdrawal is the only way of moving forward. Needed some time without art, not that it worked... have some pages lying around.

I'm sick at the moment with fever and flu. When I have regained my strength I'll end this chapter. See you all soon

Dude, don't stop now. You're starting to level up. The painting in post 277 looks delish and the the texture on the dragon's wing in post 304 looks really gross and cool. keep working on that one.

I can tell you've grown quite a bit. The sketches show you're developing some kind of personal style or maybe that's just you trying something out...I dunno. Looks good anyway.

Which school are you going to btw?
