nice work on that last one, tho the darks in the neck are way too dark, they look too deep maybe make them a bit darker than the other shadows youve got there, also work on the hair a bit more and itll look sweet (: the hair looks too stiff right now.
    keep goin' !

Man, those Bridgman studies look wonderful. Far better than the ones I churn out. You're showing very confident line work (more so than the last post even!) and a keen grasp on spatial relations (very important!).

    Just the work coming!

    Nice work, Myck!

Looks like you're picking up the muscle groups...

I don't think there are four equally defined dimples on the back, though.

The two that line up with the triangle of the sacrum I get... (the lower ones)... I think the upper two dimples are supposed to be insertion points where the bottom of the trapezius goes beneath the obliques... or something...

Anywho... I would remove the upper two dimples and not rely on them, as they aren't as reliable as the ones on the sacrum.

Looks like you are working hard tho. Keep it up!

You've really been doing your homework mycko!

Those anatomy studies and skin study are really great!
The dark skinned fairy from the other page is interesting..really good mood, really good background
The hair could have used perhaps more highlights and the skin more shading.

Looking forward to see more like that!!

    good back studies.
I think you should blend more lights from shadows, there are too much contrast.
and then don't studdy only from photos, study loomis and hogarth back drawing, it'll teach you more things
    keep it up

I like the paintings in the last post, however, it's obvious that you painted that chick from a photo. Photo studies can be helpful, I do them all the time...just don't become too reliant on them. Work from life! Integrate what you learn from life with your photo studies. Drawing/painting photos (or anything for that matter) becomes way easier!

i was off on saturday so i had a fair bit of time on my hands, some of which i wasted but i feel it was mostly productive on to the art now

First off a william bouguereau study i started, i intend on taking my time with it so i can get it as close as possible (but knowing me that might not happen ) Next is a WIP for a friend, my depiction of the biblical characters Urim and Thummim, it's gonna be very complicated so expect weeks of reworking must be patient here, i'm gonna take it real nice and slow and last but not least a painting i did yesterday (referenced of course) It's called Sunset Fields (i'm not sure why!?!! probably cuz i happen to suck at naming paintings It took 9 and a half hours and i'm pretty sure there's mistakes all over it but i'm willing to declare it finished.........buuuuut if you notice something wrong please feel free to crit

Nine and a half hours..wow! All i can think when i hear it, and see your drawing is what dedication!!
You stood, n stood, and didn't give in. Lets see you keep it that way!!!!

Thanks for showing us steps too.
It seems this fancy gifs are all over the place as of lately haha
I like the fact that you made her pretty long, straight hair..that is hard to paint actually, when you draw a lot of threads in it like you did.
It is pretty good, but the issue here is that there are a lot of styles..you need to do more of these to find your way of making them work, as one, smoothly

The study sketch is really awesome miycko!!
Now be really patient with it, really look at colours, shapes, etc

That drawing for your friend is coming along nicely too. Love the trees, it has nice colours. Now just be careful with the shading on the background.
Your great with your figures, anyone can see that from your steps n general(so i think), so now all you need to do is get better at digi too

    Youuu cannn dooo itt!!!!

Nice piece. Good for you Myck.

I think the shading on the piece is a bit confusing. The lower lip is in full light, and the upper lip has very little light on it. The lighting on the hair is also a bit confusing. Just try and keep your light source consistent, and I think it will look better. You will have to conceive of the lips as having mass and form if you do this. Vanderpoel is good for lips and eyes.
