    You're right about his armour. I thought about butchering it up a bit but... hmm I dunno, I figure he takes pride in his armour, even in a zombie apocolypse and he'd look after it like his baby. But I was thinking about giving him some zombie bashing weapons, all higgledy piggledy attached to his armour. Like spike-gloves and skull-cracking-maces and whatever else I can think of. Accidents happen, though. I'll see about post-apocolyptic-ing him up some

    The evil guy was more of a brainstorm than a proper concept. I need something to tie the two together, I was thinking a family crest or armour design - like he swapped a lot out for a more evil brand but kept his breastplate or something. I could use the same pose, but I'd prefer to have the good guy looking all noble and ready to defend his people and the bad guy looking like a bit of a jerk

    Maybe both started with the same armor, but while the good guy took care of his, the bad one never cleaned his, allowed all the gore and decay to set on his armor, even broken or missing a piece or two.

    That gnoll is looking very good. You usually do your hands too big and the arms too long, but this time it works well with the anatomy of the creature.

    I did this one while playing D&D so I should get a couple of extra points
    Apparently, I still remember how to sketch with pencils! Hadn't used them in years. I kept looking for the undo and resize tools :/
    But now I have a better idea for the clothing of my assassin, I will post better sketches tomorrow.

    sorry for my lack of posting, it was a busy week, crashing a car, finding a job, almost frying my pc, etc.
    this were the last sketches I did until I realized the month is almost over!! no more sketches!! I already started the final images. What are we going to do about backgrounds? I guess the only way we'll get to swap images is if we have something almost finished by wednesday or thursday.

    Good stuff there.
    Hmm I don't think that we will have enough time to swap characters and about the background maybe we will have to use the same for both versions of the character to avoid extra work, also I was thinking of doing something like this:

    Awesome work you two coming along great

    I've been plugging away at my final piece and I ain't happy with it - I'm planning an epic painting session tonight to get it sorted out. Frustrating!

    I'm not sure about that base idea, but I'll doodle a bit and see how it works out in my painting

    I have finished the good version of my character, now I will start with the modifications to obtain the evil version.
    Feel free to modify my character if you think that the change will improve it.

    that was the GOOD version??? .... daaamn...
    well, it looks very good, only thing that could use some work are his feet and lower legs, they look awkward.

    I like the idea of the base idea, and you're right, it doesn't have to be a base, just a white background and show a little where the characters are standing, hopefully completing the composition nicely, and that background can be shown as much as needed, though the least is better.

    Here are mine. I think I have to make the good one, well, more good.

    that looks kickass man! I really like how you used the lights and shadows and stuff. And about making the good one "looking more good" maybe you should try putting good-like accesories (like pendants, amulets) in her and evil-like accesories in the evil version (lots of blood, bones, you know) so you show the difference.
    And it seems to me like the good one is light armored and the evil one is heavy armored which is a cool concept to exploit.

    Gominoid, I love all the little details in your guy. Very imaginative, he's so interesting to look at I agree with Blau about the feet, though. They just need to be seperated a bit. At the moment there's a weird trick of perspective going on making it hard to tell which is in front

    Blau: These are coming along nice. The good looks good-er in the sketch you posted earlier, I think like gominoid said they just need more stuff on them that screams "good!" and "evil!"

    Alright, I'm gonna finish em tomorrow. Any suggestions?

    I think I'm gonna make the evil guy's pet zombie, Snuffles, a fightin' zombie - give him some kind of armour or a helmet or something. Something to make him more dangerous than a normal zombie at least. Haha, I dunno

    KICKASS!!!
    the bad guy with the zombie pet looks badass! cool idea.

    I like the halbred in the good guy, it's a nice add on to show that he must be ready for every type of combat and that thing that he has in his left arm looks like a wrist blade, like the predator you know, very post-apocalyptic looking thing, I don't know if that was your intention or they were just some random scratches but I really like the idea of a wristblade.

    and for the pet zombie try to get some inspiration from the computer game Jericho, there are some zombie knights with strange weapons, that replace their arms with axes, swords and stuff:

    I was also thinking of something like a zombie squire, like the knight went mad and psycho and looked after the zombie as his apprentice, so he dressed him like a knight, lol.

    that's a nice base for the presentation, but could use a much better design... color and texture and stuff.... I'll work on something later.
    looks great liz! Only thing I'd like to see is a more derelict look on the baddie's armor. Now it simply looks with a little dirt, and even the cloth looks nice and clean.
    For the zombie, I thought of a simple chest piece.


    Mine are still missing the 'nice' details


    edit: Now that I think about it, a frame doesn't work well at all with the blank background we are thinking (try using the frame with any of the example images that you posted)... I'll think of something later.

    awesome gominoid!! Only thing I would ask is a little variatin in the background, but otherwise they're finished!!!

    here's what I managed to do today. I don't think they're finished, but I don't know how much time I'll be able to put in tomorrow. I expect to be able to add more details, twitch the composition of the second one and a little more elaborate bases.
    This is also what I propose for the presentation. It could use some better looking frames and typography, but I won't have any more time for that.

    I will modify a bit the evil guy background tomorow then. I like the format used in the images for the text, is simple but effective. Adding a name to the character is a good idea too. I really like the format is like taken from a role playing game manual, cool.

    We are going to use the "white background with character in base" format. For the text and frame I thik that blau's idea will be ok, the only thing we need are the exact fonts and sizes used, once you finish your images try to resize them so your characters look proportionally accurate compared with the other characters, like I did. the image size will be 505x1000

    And I can sumbit all the stuff once we have finished if you want. (time here is 18:44)

    the font I used was plain arial, the size I don't know because that is not the original size... but liz, if you leave the final images and the text, gominoid or myself can make the final presentation, since its so early for us. But keep in mind how the image will look in the end. The perfect horizontal line at the bottom of your shadow won't look good. If you can make more organic lines it would look better.
