Howdy everyone
Here is my final piece, in under the wire. I had misread the deadline as August 7th and so didn't start painting until Tuesday. About 28 hours total work from pencil to final.

wow thats a lot of work for a few days!!
i really like how there are giant rib like things in the background. At first they kind of confused me, were they broken bridges or something? but then i noticed all the bones and similar, smaller rib like structures on the ground.
So are they harvesting what plants are left to rebuild the area... or bringing new plants to life..or killing everything?
"Steering perception? i am.
Inviting contradiction? i am."
very cool stuff
whats going on in there?
i've also was on the 7th of august as the final date at first
hopefully someone mentionned the 31th...
Thanks for the compliments.
The painting is intended to be about the reinvigoration of a dessicated bone field, dead and barren from a battle that took place long before. The two figures are Life Wardens (akin to a druid, perhaps), mother and daughter, both investing in renewing life from the bones and earth through magic, or by just tending to it as the child is doing. In the background are the more idyllic lands on the boundary of the bone field from where they've come.
WOW...so much work is a short time. I like the idea and all the details along with really nice effects that are not over done at all. You should be very proud of this painting![]()
