Rogue [X-Men ..Fanart thing].. fixed!
Hey.
I believe it's my first time posting in this section since it became a section for the top quality work only. So let's see if the piece will fit here.
I was doodling today, and I asked my sister which of the X-Men babes should I paint. And she said Rogue, but dressed like she was about to go with Gambit and steal something. So I took her classic green-yellow costume and made it darker, got rid of the bright yellow... and I think it works quite well.
Anyways, here she is
What do You think of her? .gif)

Thanks everyone.
And I agree that it might be too dark. I did it on my laptop and it looked okay, but then on my other monitor it was really dark, but I thought it was rather this other monitor's fault.
Well I made her all brighter and darkened her face. I hope it looks better now.

I think still a little more contrast would make it pop. And maybe usuing a slightly warmer tone for the background and highlights could project the picture even more. Im no pro tho.

The face still looks flat. Place the face in shadow and add some highlights and it will blend better. I did a quick mock up (like 20 seconds). You can work a little longer and make it look much better. Good Luck.

A few probs in my oppinion: While it may in actuallity be propotionally correct the head seems large. This might be because its the brightest thing in the picture making it stand out, or that the hair stype gives the appearance of a larger cranium. Also I think it would be nice to make some indication of the neck. To me those two problems together give the illusion that she has an oversized cranium floating over the body with no attatchment.

For what its worth, i dont think the face is the real problem here, as you can see above, if you render out the face too much we lose the focal point of the painting. I think the bright "flat" quality of the face gives us a nice spot to settle our eyes on, however her body sillhouette definitely needs to come forward from the background... Nice work overall!

The point - choose your style, don't mix them (it looks amateurish). If you want to keep the face, then render the body similar to http://images2.fanpop.com/images/pho...6-1024-768.jpg - more comic book style, IMHO.
