Thanks for the kind words DSmith, I'm getting there! I hope to post more and more work for people to view as time goes by Just a quick update here, some animal sketchs i was working on while watching some of Bobby Chiu's videos, decided to add a little more character with names and some tribal tattoo markings.

    First watercolour

I have never been a big fan of watercolour, I know it has a lot of benefits in its application and compact size for outside studies, but frankly the media seems too unstable for me to grasp. I now however have braved it and fairly happy with the initial result, something I will try a little more of.

    Any tips/ do's and don'ts for watercolour?

    Subsurface Scattering

A practice in Subsurface Scattering, this speed paint was along the lines of 1.5 hours, very happy with the outcome and I think I learned a lot Just need to practice with it now.

Great work, I especially like all the head sketches you have
You see someone better than you, doesn't it stir something inside you, doesn't it make you doesn't it make you want to do better!

Thanks much for the comment Thirumal, glad you liked the work!

Ok, I have a few pages to post from my new sketchbook, Ive been working a lot more on sketching as I'm fairly poor at it, lots of female head study. Most of the females heads in this post are referenced from Mitch Byrd's book "Scribbles and Sketchs" and also from Frank Cho's book "Apes and Babes". Just mentioning as I find it easier to learn by seeing how other artists approached the problem and recreating that step. So shout out too both those artists, amazing work
