Hey dude, welcome on ca ! Well the only advice i can give you is to draw a lot more from observation, for the next months, and to study anything that can make you improve, anatomy, color, light, composition, perspective, etc ! i find it's better to draw from life, rather than from photos, but try to find what work better with you ! Keep it up, and i wanna see more !

i think you need to draw longer strokes instead of short ones. try drawing an entire jawline or the sillohette of a figure in one go rather than stopping in between. your work will come out more confident that way

Nice figures so far! My advice is to try to do more studies like the drawings in posts #10 and 11, but make them smaller so you can do them fairly quickly. Do several small figures at a time instead of just one. Rotate between these small figure studies and longer drawings, like the baby portrait. Good luck and keep posting!

I think what will help you most right now is considering your line quality. What you do right now is a very scratchy effect, where you seem to work and rework the same line. This isn't necessarily bad in all situations, it can have some nice emotive quality, but for things like studies it will slow you down and confuse your learning.

Try to force yourself to draw confident, solid lines. It's a tough habit to break, but it will keep things clean and distinct. DONT worry about a line being wrong, it can always be erased! Erase an incorrect line instead of drawing over it.

Edit: I'm not sure, but it looks like you might also be getting a bit ahead of yourself in your drawings, for your stage of learning. Focus on larger shapes before you put in fine details, and make sure those shapes make sense. By working on details first you risk making them the wrong shape or size in relation to each other (for example, the face of your musician is too small for her body, her neck seems elongated, etc).

If you start too small and detailed and realize it's wrong, you're also going to feel like you've invested so much time in the drawing already that you'll be reluctant to correct the problem.
