    NEWBORN - Beginnings

This is my WIP of the Newborn contest. I'll post more as I go along.

I see this piece as being about a new artist and giving birth to the ideas in their head and all that is in there. Hopefully you like it and I'll post more as I work on it in addition to the initial sketch ideas and such. Thanks for looking.

Cool stuff! Perhaps the wacom she's using could be a Cintiq so shes actually looking at her drawing?

    Awesome colourtuning

I like the soft colours of your artist. It looks very warm and well elaborated.
Just awesome. I'd only take care of her proportions, especially her arm and hand look a bit wrong in size.

Gorgeous! How long does it take to colourize the girl?

These are my updates and the original drawing so you can see some WIP. To answer your question about how long it took to render her, I would say probably 3-4 hours.

Lots of great work in this contest. Feel free to drop comments. Even if I don't use it on this one, any food for thought so we can all learn is great. Thanks again for looking.

    Sweet lines, sweeet colours.
The feelings are sweet. I love orange, and I love orange blobby creatures.
Awesome! Hi, [I saw your post in the critique sections, very helpful indeed].

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments. I love the drawing "Syd" on your site Dwardo. Very nice and minimal pen work. The pirate guy's just a pirate guy. I had a good time with this one as did quite a few other people it looks like. Lots of cool work came out of this.
