I envy your photoshop skills. Did these master studies you are doing help you with your brushwork?

Those are excellent master studies. Haven't tackled Sargent yet.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

BlackDelphin - I bet you could find good referense on internet if you wanna do some of Sargents nude studies. I found this book in a library. You know they are sometimes the best place to look for reference. And then you can get away from internet a bit more often . Im kinda lazy too so when I take time and get out I get all bragy and start picking on my main source of reference Thanks Blacky!

MattGamer - ye, Mins enviros is just amazing, I should try and work like he does. He uses alot of textured brushes and I usaly end up with a thick round brush. I suck at changing brushes. I got to work on that. You have some sweet enviro studies in your SB. are you still doing those studies? post some if you are. I love to see how you solve problems. Cheers Matt.

    knoxie - Thanks!

p sage - Thanks P! but I still think its poo.

miycko - Thanks, Yeah poo will be poo. Glad you like it

Janos - It does help with my brushwork in the way that it force me to do less rendering. And that is my new mantra. Less rendering! Thanks mate!

Black Spot - Your last studie is kickass! Tackle sargent, I'll be helping as much as I can.

Lyno - Well heres another girl studie. Hope its enough for now. Need to be doing enviros. Thanks bro!

OK. So Im looking for a flat at the moment and it affects my work. I bid on this appartment today so I hope I get it. Im stressed and theres butterflys in my belly.
Heres a small update with some studies I did too calm down. Around 1 1/2 houre each. I like to stay around that amount of time on my studies. I have a 5page comic coming up. Its just for fun and I guess the writing whont be that good. (not written by me) but that takes some time from my personal work. So much at the moment! Cheers all!

Butterflys in your belly? try imagining what they look like and draw them , maybe that can calm your nerves. Good luck with the apartment.

    purb36 - Thanks bro! I will.

Fumble - Yeah maybe I should. Im so nervous.

p sage - I should give her one. She's kinda nice.

So the apparmentt got a bit to expensive so I had to drop it. But I vill go to some showings this saturday. I'll find something. I was so bummed I didnt get it I painted some studies of a paused movie. I went a bit overboard with this second one I spent so much time on it almost 3 hours. Anyway Im very pleased now.

yes! those studies have popped out! you are thinking and using the environment as your plaything. that's what it's all about. it's not what you see, but what you understand about the environment that will allow you to push or pull whatever colors to make it look more real or whatever you are going for! good work and so sad about the flat.

when i am hurting for money, it shows me how much harder i must work to get a better job. this drives my art to the max and makes me work harder than if i was secure with all the money in the world. i think i would be a very lazy millionaire. ;] keep pushing these studies out and have fun!

really really like those latest studies! bring together the smoothness of some of the earlier stuff in here with a great sense of space. your work is generally great, but there's a little flatness in some pieces (mostly final renders--the quick sketches are always really nice and dynamic) that is not in these at all. Can't wait to see more!

I love the your b/w painting of the girl, great composition, and design. What is really extraordinary is the way she looks at you, and brings you into her world.
That is the true test of an artist, the ability to create a an emotional connection to the art, and that my friend is where you are the most successful.

Hehe Avatar dose that to you:makes it pause n stare, and i case of us "artists" makes us paint, yeah haha

    Really nice updates B!
I hope you'll get the apartment you want and keep these coming!!! You're getting so much better with landscapes too!! I never know witch details to put where. And about the book, yes, would definitely make a nice change, witch i'd gladly make, but sadly i don't have any real resources of that type outside the internet.

Stuff like that won't stop me though, so lets keep on rocking, shall we!!!

Awesome updates all of the time. Love some of your colour work, but I think that your B&W stuff is still stronger. Keep pushing!

Also, it would be super cool if you posted your stuff bigger. I need to see it better without licking my computer screen haha. Please?
