Well, I'm not sure i just felt that blue is not fitting there, maybe it's just my personal impression, who knows.

And i also have a feeling that saturation is the key here, to create that focal, as you have well balanced saturation levels.

If i'm wrong just shoot me, like i said i'm not an expert by any means

P.S Or try this blue shirt with white-ish pants maybe?

I think there is some truth in what icecold said, and i personally think the more redisch version on the right would be a nice idea, but i don't think "wrong" was the correct word. More like..that blue doesn't create the mood so well.

I for one consider them the mood-makers.

I tried adding more saturation and a bit more purple to your background, and tried another colour for his outfit too. Perhaps you want something more flashy, more contrasting, perhaps you'll leave it blue like that, witch i think could be just as good, but in that case you should add more tones, more blue tones..more shadow

I hope i was of any help to you~

Im sorry but that grey just killed the intrest in the painting. Im gonna leve it the way it is and not analyse it like its soposed to depict reality. I find the different colors intresting and so on but this grey and purple light creates an totaly differnt image and its frankly not that intrstuing with a dead blob of grey. And those white pants... sure. But look at what you jkust did to the balanced values. Im sticking with my version. But thanks for your thoughts.

Well i know it's not hot, that was the point. I considered the red version by icecold better, and i tried doing a colder version myself.

If you don't like it that is that. I just tried..

Nice illustration.I would try to make the character more 3d by adding more values and rendering more, just to pop him up.
    Good job mate.

I liked the original blue personally. The fashion show afterwards, wasn't as interesting.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

    Hello B,
That bear with the girl on top is a cool idea, I like the design, also the style is neat. I just don't undestand why you made the bear purple but I guess if bears with mechanical limbs and gloves are possible... anything goes

Real glad to see you're posting a lot. I watch even though I don't always comment. This whole exploration of color recently has been interesting to listen into and watch. Cheers!

Nice illustration! The contrast of expressions really tell a tale all by themselves. Just a question...why are both her palms open and turned to the viewer? Annyways, I say this would be a good movie poster for the movie "Drag Me to Hell". Good stuff, man!

the straight gray kinda kills it, cause there's nothing else in the piece that's that color...what about adding a slight hint of green or red into it, to echo another color and kinda unify the piece?

oh, and the end of her thumbs should be facing away from the hand, cause that's relaxed, not in towards the hand. it takes effort to curve the thumb like that; try the pose, see if you see what i mean.

    Thank you B
And i understand hw it feels when you finished the piece and you start getting critique on it then..i tend to say there's nothing wrong with it at that point >_<
And i am sure she loved it, and more!

About the new concept, really really nice! I so love the background and the colours! The flowy, drafty feel is in there too.

Can't wait the update on this one!

Hey man, this last one is a bit wierd, she seems like she is standing in front of some macabre carneval wall. Also, the figure is a bit wierd, you should have a bit of work on the hands and the jaw line.

Thumb pad needs work - I'm doing hands at the moment so I noticed.

Wow, B-man, you've really been working hard since I last dropped you a line. . . in the last book. There is just a ton of improvement in here. Some of your line work is immaculate like the first round with kingkostas and the lady you did for psage. My only complaint is that there aren't nearly enough bears in this pad That and you haven't updated in a few days . . . so whenever your ready. Really, though, great stuff.

    Cheers

I like how you used passage and light and dark halos on this image. Definitely pops him off the page.

    Also I like your "schapes"

The latest WIP is looking good so far... I'm always peeking in your thread to see if there are more tasty pencils though

    hi mate
I think i see a lot of saturation here and there. Also the lower cloth seems to flatten the figure somehow.Work it some more, maybe add some more values or something
    Keep up the good work!!!

Flanagan - Thanks! The Palms are exposed in an naked way, like a window to her soul. I dont know really, but I was aiming for a sort of helplessness. And also an almost religious pose.

purb36 - Yup, your right, I fell in the grey trap. I tried ading a purple hue in it but its still to grey. D:
Yeah I get what you mean about the thumbs.
Anyways, Thanks bro! I hope I get inspierd to fix the image.
    Cheers!

TheGnoll - Thanks bro! I love Shelly Wan.

    BlackDelphin - Thanks!

Mischeviouslittleelf - Yeah I was aiming for weird dreamy magical look.
Yeah the hands. I should have spotted that. But Im having a hard time fixing the jawline. It looks weird if I change it :/
Thanks man! Glad you keep koming here.

miycko - I love saturation. I think it would get flat If I desaturate the shadows. Thanks mate!

Black Spot - Yeah the pads the fingers everything with the hands are just wrong. THanks for your helpo and support. She loved it.

Euthyphro - Hi! Good to see you agin! Yeah the bears! HAHA sure, I might do one soon.... Thanks

p sage - Yeah Viva Death is a good band. I always loved Josh freese. But why do you think of them as my theme?

Kingkostas - Yeah I rushed the cloth part.. :/ Bad me! Thanks for tyhe sugestions. I hope I get inspired to fix the image. THeres just so much more I want to try and paint. Cheers Buddy.

Karein - Thanks. Glad you like em.

snootchy - I dont know who james jean is Sorry... Ill look him up. Thanks bro! Glad your back btw.

So I dod some fanart today. Thought Ill post it. Im not that big of a hellboy fan, I dont like the movies but Mignola rocks! I know there's some major errors in the composition and color comp too. I just felt like doing something more stylized and mignola like. Actually mi first real fanart image.

Excellent sketchbook here, I'm really surprised I never dropped a comment, and I've been coming here since you first started this book, haha. Oh well.
It looks like you're progressing fast, solid anatomy and great ideas! Though sometimes your figures look a bit stiff, and from the videos i saw it looks like you build your drawings from the top down, not much of an underlying structure, as a result body parts sometimes look out of place, I notice it mainly in the shoulder areas. But things have been looking great lately.
Have you practiced gesture drawing? If not you should really give it a try, in no time you'll see your figures have much better flow and weight.
Great work again, i'll leave some comments a bit more often from now on, i can't wait for more! Keep it up!!!!
