some thumbs and some more developed character stuff.
Cool concepts.
The only thing is their legs. I'd suggest either practice leg anatomy, or showing weight distribution. Other than that, good job. Can't wait to see more.

Hey great start to an SB so far, the thumbs are really cool shows very good costume design. Love the medieval armor stuff, and great job on pushing for variety on the three figures. Too early to crit but work on those hands, maybe? and keep em coming.
Drawing is the artist's most direct and spontaneous expression. - Edgar Degas
Irishdrunk - thankyou. cheers for the crit. i'll do some studies of legs and feet. see if i get better at that.
strings - thanks, yeh still need to work at hands. i'll do some studies of them later on to day hopefully.
here's a study of la roux i did (which doesn't look anything like her xD) and some studies of lips.
arrrrr power cut and work has been killing me. :/ any ways here some junk. nothing digital because i couldn't get enough time after work when my power was briefly on. >.<
some more.
damn man! keep truckin, this is looking great! aside from the weightlessness (as somone already mentioned) those digital sketches are fantastic.
Ah, I'm jealous of your hands
Keep it up.![]()

jdeegz - thanks, yeh i'll start grounding my characters abit more.
irishdrunk - lol dude, i can only draw right hands atm xD
strassen - thanks ^^, i think i might give that ago
here's some more 30's gestures. playing around with markers quite abit for them which was interesting. started to try some subterranean environment ideas and started work on a illustration of a mates world of warcraft character.
some studies from refs mainly focusing on hands with the body. im going get my ass back onto a life drawing class cause i badly need it >.<. might try princes.
Those hands are coming along really well. This last batch of figures has some nice forms, particularly the first, second & last one. You've got some good faces in there too.![]()

JMonsterDesign - thanks
Badger - lol, peter mandelson is a very funny man.thanks. yeh, im gona finish it off soon.
its been awhile since i worked on it but i started to work out the final look for my character i posted in 2. i used elements of 2 and 3 out comes for it mainly with a few added bits. also i wanted to try something new today so i had a quick go at some fashion illustration stuff. was quite a change and was really fun making new marks! there some 30s gestures as well.
studies and another wip of the painting i started yesterday. was wondering do you think the feet look alright atm?
here some scribbles from the weekend.
quick selfportrait, some studies of people foucing on line and some more studies of girls again.
some stuff from yesterday and today. i recently bought andrew jones fine art series download. was a brilliant watch, and got quite a few ideas on how to throw ideas and shapes about. anyways i made the painting listen and watching pendulum live at brixton ablum which is insanely good. i wish i could have gone to see them live

went to Bristol yesterday to see the banksy vs Bristol museum exhibition. it was brilliant. anyways here is some junk from today and yesterday. :/
some observational drawings, some anatomy from my head to see how much i learnt (which wasn't much). today i continued on one of my paintings and another self portrait.
Wonderful sketchbook so far! The amount of work you're putting out is great. You might want to watch out for is similar faces being repeated over and over in sketches. And for the painting of girl with spear, you should check out the proportions and maybe just draw a body to go along so you can see some things more clearly. The head is very small, while the arms seem to connect to the body very far away.
Anywhooooo....Keep up the great work.![]()
thanks pixie tricks! i really need someone else to look at the piece to point things out, so these comments are very helpfully. im gona try and fix some of the proportions on the arms and make the head a little bigger. with the head i wanted it to look like the armour is quite big on her but the head does look alittle too small even for that. ive also started to do daily self portraits which hopefully (when i get use to the mirror >.<) will help alot with expression . thanks again
anyway here is some stuff from the weekend. there not to much to show but work and pub did take up alot of my time![]()
Hi !
I really like your digitals.. espacially this one:
http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1249587371
The armour/costume looks awesome.. medieval, but also somehow modern at the same time. I would love to see more like this.
thanks demodeus! yap there is another 3 going to be in a series with that piece two done by me; two by a friend. my next one i will hopefully start planning before the weekend.
here some new stuff. two more selfportraits. i started a thread here where i am going to post these. also some more on my longer painting. i think i sorted out quite a few of the issues raised by Pixie Trick. i should finish this soon i hope. :/
your longer painting is looking good, nice vibrant colours, graphic style, though as Pixie Trick said the head is small. Also the hand holding the polearm seems to be the wrong way around, because in this position that is really uncomfortable. Sling a broom over your shoulder and you'll see what I mean.

aha, so I was lured in here by the mandy icon. ADVERTISING WORKS
great stuff in here and an excellent start. your digital paintings have a really nice texture to them and the longer paintings looking good (though her arm to the right looks pretty short, stiff and unnatural. the way you've painted the elbow joint, her forearm ends up looking way longer than her upper arm). top stuff though fella, keep up the good work
What an overwhelming lesson to all artists! Be not afraid of absurdity; do not shrink from the fantastic. Within a dilemma, choose the most unheard-of, the most dangerous, solution. Be brave, be brave! - Isak Dinesen
thanks paddy! yeh i tried it out now and im defiantly going to change that. im also starting to have second thoughts about the head. i did make it a little bigger but i really wanted the Armour to look big on her which might be lost if i take it to far. im going to mess around with the size of that again.
thanks gutss! lol peter mandelson is too funny not to have as an icon XD . and thanks for the comments about the arms. i think im going to try and get a reference for the arms to work from. that will hopefully make the arms feel more natural.
some stuff from today. all studies (including the worst ever self portrait. i still need work at doing skin tone from life >.<).
to make the armour look big on her shrink her body slightly but leave the head, at the moment she's 8 1/2 heads tall, which is big even for a male superhero. Go for about 7 and she'll look late adolescent with big armour on.

p.s. nice brush work on the sp.
hey man, you have some cool concepts here, and the self portraits look great. like other poeple have said, watch the proportions of your figures, but i already see improvement in your newer studies. keep at it!
