    Good Evening

Here are the studies i have been doing, I have learned alot from them
The first three are from my head the last one is from reference.
I am defenetly going to study more from photos then when i am more confortable im going to venture for myself a lil bit.

1st study: from imagination, i wated to start understanding how to block in colors with a very quick thumbnail. My 1st atempt at it, lots of anatomy errors and the colors are like Yuk! I aint used to colro on a PC ahh well but i learned a bunch and got quite used to it.

2nd study: another from imagination, this time with no thumbnail and tried to focus on the colors a bit more, but still alot failed D:.

3rd/4th stufy: these ones are just coloring experiments i grabbed some linearts (From Here) and started coloring, and failed quite a bunch xD.

5th study: from reference, i didnt eyedrop the colors of her skin nor the background(at the early stages), my colors were quite identical it seems im not so good at coloring but i can capture the hues and values with no problem. Defenetly going to study from refs from now untill i get the grip of it.
Her butt was a lil wider i have to keep in mind proportions next time.
Had a great time with this ( took 3 hours aprox and with no sketch i just blocked the colors in).

    So yeah critique lovelies

Bye Bye have a nice day.

    Ana

    hey welcome!

the study from ref is looking really nice, i suggest you do a lot of these, i promise you will see a great improvement in ur imagination work, the more u study the less u actually have to to think about when it comes to doing work from imagination

well done for starting a sketchbook, I wish you luck in ur journey!

    keep posting, keep studying

    All the best

Hey Ana, thnanks for visiting my SB and for the tip .
Love the chick, nice job. Just keep doing these paintings from reference. When you come across a problem, don't try to fix it by just painting in some things, try to find references or do studies so you master the stuff, but I think you'll already knew this .

    So have fun painting!

Thank you very much for the tips guys and girls

Ive done some paintings from reference today but they didnt come out very well, i wasnt very in the mood i guess but i forced myself anyway, thats what i need.

I made some sketches and anatomy studies and those are nice, but coloring I still have a kind of dificulty putting the right colors in the right spot.

    I hope you enjoy them

    Crit has usual.

I am hoping to make everyday color studies and then see my progress after 2 months, cant wait!!!(im excited and hopefull)

Hi Ana, doing color studies every day will sure fix those problems you mentioned, but I think you're already doing great, so I'm looking forward how much you'll be progressed in those 2 months.
Maybe crits, euhm when doing color studies, don't go to big so you can focus more on the colors. Here are 2 great sites:
    terra galleria and national geographic

    Good luck .

her chest/belly are to short, but its a colorstudy so itsnt not that important
try using more yellowish in the lighter parts, and a bigger influence from the surrounding enviorment in the skin tones

Even tho anatomy is not that important in color study--it is still important to practice proportions. It is very hard to learn how to block in color if you don't know how the forms and shapes should be, so i think maybe just do a little bit of proportion studies each day will only help you with your color studies

and I'm guilty of this myself, but try not to use little strokes. Even in color studies, try to go as big as you can with the brush and develop the habit of doing bigger strokes.

Hope that helps! really beautiful start!
