My first contest attempt! A tad late, but I'm quite excited non the less!
For this piece I am depicting a scene where an Elf guarded a fearie's egg long enough to hatch. The question now is whether the Newborn can in turn save the Elf from immediate danger...
Any and all crits and suggestions welcome!

Lowered the dragon's claw
Added more detail
Not sure how I'm going to add more colours...
Colour? As a start - How about an over all colour cast on a layer over the top set to a suitable belnding mode BenG? Then decide what you want to lift to more importance with other colours - the luminsecent lady perhaps?
Looks very promising. Keep an eye on the arms of your man holding the egg thing. They are the only part that seems uncomfortably posed to me so far.
Thanks Nickillus - its great to be in the presence of an ImagineFX regular! - I experimented with different colours on the lady, but I think white will work best.
Wip4 - Added dragon's colour, together with a few more bones. The bones at the bottom are for the sake of depth and composition... still deciding wether it fits or not.
Still have to fix the man's arms...
and the dragon's teeth...
New update: More detail on the dragon, added detail to the man and added some dust
Any crits, comments or suggestions welcome!
Not a major update: only intensified the dragon's colour.
My second entry is also in the pipeline:
A Wadjet mother guards over her newborn.
Any crits and suggestions are always welcome
Started detailing the mother, still have to work on the nest and eggs...
Any suggestions welcome!
Sorry for the lack of regular WIPs, haven't had internet in a while...
Decided to include some phoenix-like elements into the design of the Wadjet
Had some free time to come back to the first entry. Added some colour, fire and magic.
Any crits and comments always welcome!
Cool dragon and new born lady w wings, the man holding her is a little stiff & maybe some glow light in him would be nice. Do you need the foreground rectangle rid things?
