Sweet stuff in here! The last portraits looked great, except the one to the right something boggles me about the features there - think its the eyes being a bit off. Really enjoyed the landscapes you did, looked nice. Oh, and the pencils I also really enjoyed, tons of stuff to look at when you've filled up the pages like that. Anyhow, keep up the great (and hard) work and hope the longer studies pays off even more!

Hey man! Awesome stuff Loving the landscape from imagination on #259, the translucent feel is really nice

I too should really start doing more stuff just focusing on the fundamentals. I feel like I don't understand anything.

Have you bought your cast yet? I've been wondering where I could get one

Awesome stuff, your lights work very nicely and the studies look fierce. You still have some things to work on as we all of course, maybe color is one that you should focus more on. But anyway you are getting there!

    Jatka samaan malliin, hienoa!

    Thanks for the comments!

Been working on my master's thesis so painting's been on hiatus for some time now. Maybe we'll get this thing going again.

Whoa, an update! Great values and nice, chalky brushing! Also, though it comes late I gotta say I really like the portrait of Johnny Depp from December, great depth, rendering and edge treatment!

Hope next update won't take as long

smuli: Thanks man. I try to be bit more active from now on, haha.

Wip enviro. Trying to get some mood going in there. The perspective might be totally off since I pretty much eyeballed it, which is really dumb btw. I recently watched Whit Brachna's MB downloads again, so there's probably some influences in this one.

I think your choice to slow down with the studies is a great idea, and the last few have definitely shown a jump in quality.... the environment is looking good, thought very monotone... maybe a flash of brighter colours (not by much) in the graffiti on the walls would help make the rest of the desaturated colours come alive... Would also expect a little more in the way of shadow at the bottom of the wall with the graffiti on it, even with the more subtle lighting. Liking your control with the values overall though.

zephyri: Thanks for the pointers. They were spot on.

A quick Sorolla color study in Artrage (part of the painting). He's awesome.

Spam. Artrage application of the study. My palette got bit too muddy on this one.

I like the calm evening/early morning feel and the way you captured the lighting on the town piece! A lot of interesting details and textures to look at. I think the last one could use some bigger brush strokes for contrast but good values and depth on that one too!

Satu: Feels good to be back. Thanks.

smuli: Thanks man. Gotta keep away from those small brushes.

Seeing my digital works through another, better screen again reveals how dark and f'd up the values are. So I'm planning to finally get a proper screen and a new tabletop computer as soon as I can afford it. It just happens that my old trusty Wacom Graphire 2 is after ten years at the end of it's road as well, so I have to finally buy that Intuos too. It's going to be one expensive rest of the year...

Meanwhile I'm trying to get into the pencil groove again, so here's some poopy pages.

Really great sketches. Those hands are especially gorgeus. Its funny how hands can be incredibly beatifull and creepy at the same time.

keep it up. Hopefully we get to see more pencil works from you. :-)

    Heyyy! Sorry for the absence.

Ville: Thank you! My hands are actually quite creepy in real life too, haha.
Snatti: Good to hear that man.
NickyBeats: Thanks dude. I haven't visited this sb in such a long time either, haha.
    Tef: Thank you. Appreciate it.
Adrian: Quite honestly, graduation and work happened. Thanks for the nudge. I'm slowly creeping back from the limbo.

Here's some Artrage heads from ref. The value range is bit too narrow but hey...Name: heads.jpg
