I wake up this morning, just feel that I need to change her pantyhose, make it more playful...LOL, I like the result, it's better than fishnets.

Hi, It's good to see your progress. You seem to stick at one thing until it's fininshed. Which is good. Are you using reference for these? I prefer Rhianna1, te first one you did. Compared with the second. But thats just me. Your work reminds me of Mike McCarthy's work (the guy who did the concept work for Fable) Great stuff

You don't like my stripe pantyhose?! .... that' happen to be my favorite~~~LOL

Thank you for the comment, I do use reference, a lot of reference. From human posture to fabric pattern. I combine different reference, pick and choose elements I want to put into my art. So yeah, reference is very important. It's a lot easier now that we have internet, I still have reference I collected from magazines back in art school.

The truth is, nothing is original really. We don't really "create" anything. We break down and reconstruct.

Don't be discouraged from drawing. When self doubt creeps in, just kick it to the curb. It does nothing for you. The renderings and line work are awesome. And I like how your different characters have different personalities by just looking at them. Best regards and keep on drawing

andres333 I think it's like changing other pictures in your post, click edit on your first post, and change the pictures there.

sanakris Thank you. recently got laid off, my lifelong dream is still far away, ...that sort of things tent to get people depressed...But hey, that's life. All I can do is just keep drawing and drawing and drawing...and eventually, I'll get there.

I'm really enjoying your sketchbook so far. Nice character designs and gorgeous, detailed costumes. I love the Lady and the Knight on the first page (they remind me of Tarot cards somehow). I will definitely keep an eye out for more

Thank you for stopping by, Sekino, I've been watching your work for sometime at CHOW. I'm not much a talker, so most of the time, I just look around and keep the comment to myself. I really enjoy your works, very unique style. Did you do it in photoshop or painter or watercolor?

Here's something I didn't expect....an Armor design...I start out with a uniform idea, end up with "near future" style armor. Not sure if I want to finish it though...Armor takes time...

A different design...can't decide which one works though.

The first one matches the same style of her normal dress, but I like the simplicity of the second design.

This piece takes a lot longer than i expected, probably because I got carried away with her costume......anyway, I think the hardest part is done. The boots should be easy.

Another little quick sketch to get away from the bigger piece.

I can't believe I finished this one. The lower part is a bit plane, compare to all those accessories on the top, but I think it's better to leave it that way, or the character will get lost in the costume.

This painting scare the c#@$ out of me... because of my anima/comic root, I start every painting from a detailed line art, I try to figure out all the composition, proportion issue with my line art. I rarely make big changes when coloring the line art. That's my safe zone. Now after seeing all these people doing their art start with broad brush strokes and with color right from the get go, I'm tempted to try their style, to see how it works for me. So I tried out this one...and I have to say, after I started it, I just got scared. It's so chaotic to the point of intimidating. I don't know where to go next, and there's color everywhere!!!

But I guess that's what happens when you try out new things, they're almost always intimidating. I hope I'll learn something from this piece.

wip1 - This is a rough sketch, a basic idea.

nice stuff. I think you should play with hard edges more in your paintings. It'd make them pop more and the details will be crisper.

Excellent character designs. I especially like the girl in the blue/black uniform, and high violet boots. The costume is wonderful, and has nice details.
I'm not sure if it's part of the look you are going for, but some of the paintings feel just a tiny touch flat. I think there is some room to add a little more value changes, and color variations, without taking anything away from the look. I see some of this coming in your most recent painting, especially thanks to the bounced light on the knee.

    Fantastic Work!

    Greg

I like all your illustrations. Especially the ones with the 18th and 19th century look.
