From the black book...of Hipalien...
Hi everyone a longtime lurker and first time poster...I am blown away by all the talent here! So I have been keeping sketchbooks for awhile now. I am up to #41 at present. I am attaching two images here one is an overall picture of my sketchbooks 36 to 41 and an image from a page I sketched today. I do all types of artwork from comic book to storyboards. I really love character design and really enjoy seeing others creations. Thanks for checking out what I am doing and any feedback is always great. I am always in the learning and growing stage with what I do. Hipalien aka Rick...

Wow great stuff!!!
Too bad I can't see those pages better. Can you post some more of your work? Thanks for the advices about teachers. Here in Czech Rep is Concept art pretty new thing for schools, so people there didn't get use to it yet. Younger teachers are ok, and they are supportive, but the older generation seem to be uninterested and bored by this kind of design. Still, there is no place to study CA. I guess it's similar in other countries. Thanks for stopping by again, and I hope you will post more of your work soon, I believe others would be happy to see your advanced form of character sketching.

Wow, very nice sketchbook. I can see you've been working hard with many mediums. I like how every section seems to have it's on environment. The only thing I can say is keep on practicing and have fun. I'm not quite sure what can be worked on.

Very nice use of pencils. I thought it was pen for a second. The way you show the bone. Is very good for the figure and I can see how the form came along. I can see your practice of different figures in your sketchbook. But I would like to see you dedicate a page to one complete figure and environment. I know you can do it already. But, was wondering how you would attempt it.
Lastly have you done any digital or fabric/cloth studies? I heard they are very helpful.

Wow! So many sketchbooks and all filled up by the looks of it.
Man, all of your sketches are so fluid and full of life. I dig the variety of subjects and styles, not to mention facial expressions and concepts. So so nice to see each page crammed with good stuff that it makes me look closer just to see the little details.

Nice. I love your style, of which you have truck loads! There's also something very child-like about it too... I can't put my finger on it. Anyway, great stuff
