    Tipa's Sketchbook *Warning: Some Nude*

    Hello,

My name is lily and I'm an art student.

I think it's like my third attempt to open a sketchbook, I hope it'll work this time.

Feel free to leave a comment after you

This one is made with acrylics on a recycled paper.

This is a real life drawing I started today, not sure if I'll continue it, it's hard for me to paint something for a long time.
The colors aren't like in the real picture, but I'm really happy with how they came out.

    hey there!

    the skills are there, .

the drawing looks a little unfinished. The pose of the characters and the perspective are really good, kinda like a cinematic moment. imo, what i believe is missing is a little dramatic light. The moon shines on top of the two characters but there is no reflection of that. Perhaps the overall mood would be more creepy and dangerous if you throw in some light from above.

    Thank you for your comments...

You are totally right Hayden, but I'm too depressed to continue to work on it

    Anyway,

First of all, meet the Boobies:

Now, I would be really glad if you can tell me which background is better, and tell me how much and how the subject is presented in the drawing, the subject is "propaganda".

    Thank you

    hi

the first background looks better to me . the second one has the same colors as the character. in this stage i m not sure what the character is supposed to be: human or animal, but i want to see how this will look like when it s finished

    Well, it is finished...

It's not supposed to be "a character", it's a painting, fine art, I'm going to try and send it for a fine arts exhibition.

    hi tipa,
I really like your digi paintings even though its not normally my favourite medium. The acrylic painting is good especially the hair which is really well sculpted but I think you should apply this to the face which looks flat in places, use some darker tones round the jaw just to give it a bit more life

hedwordup - Thank you for your comment, you've got some amazing things yourself. You are right about the portrait, It's hard for me to paint for a long time, so I got lazy eventually.

I'm totally lost from now. Don't really know how to work on the background and I know there are some wrong but it's hard to put my finger on, and harder to know how to change it...

Please, say whatever comes in mind, any technical tips are totally welcomed.

    From this pic:http://www.kihlstudios.com/film_ente...ls3_detail.jpg

It's so hard. I can't believe I let my students do three of these kind of skulls, but it'll do them only good
Maybe I focused too much on the special colors and forgot about the base color.

I made this sketch for the Killer Prom Queen challenge, I really surprised myself with the back ground. Anyway, I'm having a really hard time now on how to approach it. It's really complicated with a lot of details... I think it's a bit beyond me...

    Why run out of paper?

Do you have by any chance good pictures of planes?
The Russian part wasn't planned, I just took what i could from google.

Oh, I completely misunderstood you, forget about the planes

I don't think drawing on book pages is original, but I wanted to try to get a certain look.

    Do you know Russian?
