Synch Painter X across two computers

OK, I thought I'd asked this before (but I was probably in Pixel Alley, which forums I can no longer find):

I'm trying to synchronize my workspace/brushes/papers/etc. across my desktop and laptop. I have so far been unable to shift across all my precious brush variants to my laptop, even after wholesale copying and transferring the entire Painter X folder from the desktop. Several are just missing from their folders (which are there).

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Wow; that was a quick reply, thanks!

Actually, my workspaces are synced. But now I'm wondering if the variants are simply not in the right folders...

The folders are duplicates of each other, so there must be a setting outside the Painter X folder that holds the key. But where?

Where!? (in best William Shatner impression)

    oh, ok
assuming you're on PC (I'm on vista right now and can't roll back to xp)
painter has a brushes folder at
    Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter X\Brushes
and brushes-papers-etc at a hidden folder here:
    your system disc:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter X\Default - default workspace
    your system disc:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter X\painter_x - this is my custom workspace, named "painter_x" as follows;

and I have no idea how to transfer stuff if you're on mac, I didn't have to do that before. :\

That has to be it. I'll check when I get back home on Tuesday.

    Thanks!

OK, revisit to an old thread with a new twist.

I am now using Windows 7 and none of these tricks work. I can export the workspace, but there aren't even the appdata files anymore. Does anyone know where the files for these are kept? I've done a host of searches and have pulled up bupkis.

Make sure you've got 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives' selected in Folder Options for Windows Explorer (type 'Folder Options' in the Start menu search bar for a shortcut to it - then go to it in the View tab).

Then it's in the same place as ikken said above i.e.:

your system disc: \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter X\Default - default workspace
your system disc: \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter X\painter_x - this is my custom workspace, named "painter_x" as follows
