What should I do to improve this drawing?

I was thinking of making a black background with red veins going into the girl maybe. I know I'm bad at drawing but I'm getting better and you guys can help me be a better artist. Bring on the criticism! btw i was thinking of calling this drawing "Plastic Surgery".

Lol the title would be very fitting

Honestly, the best thing to do is to grab some references and start doing a lot of studies.
The face has no structure to it, but that is something that comes with practice and lots of studies. I suggest Burne Hogarth books--they helped me immensely

I like the proportions of the face as they are now, but if you want it to be more realistic, check out the ideal facial proportions:

yeah, i know i could've made the face a bit more realistic.

the drawing is supposed to show how wrong plastic surgery is and how people go too far sometimes. basically the woman got a new face, a simple face.

did i reach my goal of showing the horror of plastic surgery?

It definitely shows horror (tho her face looks more sad than scared), but I wouldn'tknow it was related to plastic surgery. A lot of pics that reference plastic surgery use dotted lines rather than stitches, the way that the doctor marks what areas he is going to cut up. But, yes, it is obviously dealing with some sort of scary subject

I am curious what type of criticism you are looking for. Some people have already brought up good points, but it doesn't seem as if you are still working on this piece.

I would put it aside as done and start something new. If your going for realism your next step in growing as an artist if very straightforward. Sketch from real life. Pay attention to the details and the relationship of one shape next to another.

    Good luck with your work.

If you're a movie type, check out Escape from LA and Repo! the Genetic Opera - they both have really interesting takes on plastic surgery and horror.

    Honestly? No.

The woman's face does not look "simple" or wrong because your entire drawing is very simple. If anything, she looks like she has a reasonably complex face because her face is the only thing in the picture with any detail. Like Murgen said (perhaps more politely), you should scrap this and try something less ambitious.
