The one with the angel in the blue and black smoke is INCREDIBLE. In fact I really love the way you do smoke in general. Great stuff.

Btw, I'm having trouble with my graphic tablet right now, anyone has had this before? The tablet is plugged-in, running but nothing responds, neither pen or buttons. I have had it for at least four years without any problem at all. :'(

Loving the new guy in the black armor. Wild profile.

Try reloading your drivers if you still have the driver CD for the tablet. I had to do that today for some reason as well.

If that doesn't work then I'd check with the help desk at Wacom (assuming it's a Wacom Tablet)

    Keep up the awesome work.

the driver problem is because of a conflict with something windows has released, I went back to an older driver and that fixed it for me. Otherwise, just re-install the driver every time you restart your comp.

pimpwacker: Thanks, indeed, I had to restore the system before some update and it works. Since it didn't ask me for this update, I hope the problem doesn't reoccur once it'll update again, like, when I'll turn it off.

WyckdNick: Thank you. Restoring the system fixed it.

School doesn't leave me enough time to practice or work on what I'd want.
But I thought I'd post some of the character portraits I've been doing for a while. It's not what I should focus on but it's the only thing I feel like doing after very long days of school work. Trying to find diversity in a very large amount of characters within the same story.

It started as series of 1 hour portraits, four by four. I updated this post with the most recent collection, where I have had them all polished a little more.

I keep the first post updated with my latest work, the one I'm the most proud of, so that people can have an overview of what I can do at the opening of the thread instead of having to go through all the pages and waste their time. It's not re-posting, it's only practical. (and common, on forum)

Boy, am I a fan of your work. Every here and there I find a little dip in the generally very high level of quality, but that doesn't matter.. The strenght of the characters, the intensity of their expressions and your extraordinary sense of atmosphere is just striking. But most of all, your design style and your brushwork have a very distinct uniqueness to it that I truely admire. For some reason I always find myself siting way too long in front of the screen, browsing through your artworks. Keep it up!

    Thank you very much Lewiston.

Some recent works, some personal, some fan art and some commission.
In order, two fan arts, the cyborg a character I invented based on Yukito Kishiro's motorball universe (Battle Angel Alita), the red one is a character fan piece from Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei.
The third one is an old piece of mine which I corrected.
Last is one of two commissioned portraits.

Thanks for viewing and commenting. Advices and critiques are always useful.

What I love about these character designs is that they are so...lush. You look at them and immediately begin imagining their backstories.

The designs in post #229 bring to mind MGS. The last guy before the girls portrait especially reminds me of Raidens design from MGS4. Great work man...

    The Nuge: Thanks.
Juniversal: I'm a fan of MGS designs, thanks for the compliment even if my designs are not that good!
    Juggertha: Thank you.

New monster. Tried a couple things with the rendering.
If you guys feel like helping with my designs, please critique them? Specially the characters, where do they work, why, where do they fail, why? If I was going toward characters for video games, specifically. I need to learn many things to improve them. Thanks very much.
