New stuff. A bit of female nude, just to change. And classicizing, not to change, but maybe.

Man, your rendering is top notch and all but you really really need to hit anatomical and gestural studies hard. All the inconsistencies and anatomical inaccuracies are a huge detriment to your work. All the polishing you're doing on some of the work is just making a lot of these issues pop. You could be producing much higher caliber of work if you did so, especially considering your grasp of color and light is already pretty decent.

FranciscoShreds: I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take this.
    redletter1: cool
    Axel.s:No, it's an expression.

New one I finished right now. Tried to work against my polishing habits and keep something sketchy but right.
Uploading is slightly darker than the original but I hope you guys enjoy it.

    Superbe boulot.
Ce travail dans les poses, les lumières sont magnifiques.
J'adore comment tu joues avec les couleurs, ainsi que la dynamique que tu apportes avec tes textures ainsi que tes focales.

The girl in the bushes (with the feathered / black talons) is really striking, very well painted. I really wish the nipple on her right breast was in the right place though, it's really distracting from an otherwise fantastic job.

    Couple of new works.

New character design for personal purpose like the Winter Soldier. Strangely it's the same story.

It's all personal works. I have an oil painting that is on its way that I like a little bit, I'll show you when I get it back from the class room.

Great work, but as i said on other forums. Love your work. And as FranciskoShreds said, you have some anatomical issues but that is something that i find good and recognizable(personal) in your works.

Some of these are really great.

I wanted to ask if you were familiar with Veronique Meignaud-- Some of the pieces where you get more playful with color look like a lot like her stuff, and if you don't know of her then I would imagine you'll enjoy her work.

The piece with the guy and the girl with the red sweeping airy dress is just beautiful. . .beautiful. . .it's tripping me out though the guy looks like a young Tony Curtis, lol.

Thanks for the comments, it is very much encouraging. I'm working on interesting stuff by now but I can't still show. Hopefully I was having a break last night and did something just for the fun I can show. No specific purpose or effort here, was just letting myself go. I just tried to keep it rough and sincere instead of polishing for nothing.

Smirt- very pleased to see your many updates. As I surveyed the body of your postings, I noticed that you have many strong points (I won't bother touching on all of them), however I would say that your three-quarter and occasionally straight on portraiture suffers.

    Here's why I say that:
-Perspective in your three quarter views especially in the eyes, not necessarily the eye closest to the viewer, but the far eye seems to suffer. Your rendering in your commission portrait above (the white male with blonde hair) has great attention to the hair, yet the eyes don't seem right to me. Maybe flipping the canvas often when you paint might remedy the situation.
-Overall aesthetics in your portraits is a bit lacking. If you are going to spend time beautifully rendering armor and fabric, take your time in describing a facial expression worthy of your time. I know this because I struggle with it myself. Make the shapes in the face have 'zip', or a flow that is pleasing.
-Watch your nose lengths as well.

I do not intend to be overly critical, but I see potential and that's why I took my time.

    -Mike Maher
