Here's an update on my concept I have alot of work to do still. I need to stop playing video games and need to concentrate.

this thread is really dead for a CHOW, too many people doing the bigger challenges I think, oh well.

Update, very WIP just coloring/rendering gonna fix all kinds of things still.

    /agree.

For what it's worth I ditched my original idea due to lack of any kind of feeling for it and painted something completely different. I don't think it qualifies as a CHOW anymore, but (hopefully) it still fits with the main compo brief.

Posted here anyway, but I guess I'll move it over to the main competition threads when I decide what to do with it next.

,I understand what you mean by not feeling much to the subject I didn't want to participate till one day I realized how I want it. I don't capture the whole story behind your picture , but I like the creature very much
    Lou Siefer
mmm..Original interpretation You should fix his clothes - some correct folds would really help. What's that at the background?
    Nerahla
Great story to tell! But I've got to say that before I've read it I thought it's some kind of giant baby - you should emphasize the perspective some more
    Good palette
    Rabies
Good idea. You can work on your technicue,of course , but you came up with good composition, expressive pose and mimic. Keep it up!
    Adam Schumpert
Wow!Very interesting idea, and I think I may not worry about execution

Going for nature too? ^_- It's kinda blurry for now

It's kinda touching concept - I'm already worried about saving the little one

Congrats! Though I'm still find hard to connect the picture and the subject =p

    First time in CHOW.

Go on from Between Ragnarok, Among dead bodies of both angel & demon,
Something watching this war quietly. It didn't know about what good or bad,but it know only that WAR IS FUN. So NEW BORN of Other Species began.

My concept go on Bio mechanic that born from demons//angel flesh & blood.
    DEVASTATION is the best.

hey all, been pretty busy for the past few weeks... still : ( but heres something i started for the newborn contest. the idea is based on artists finding their own direction and artistic calling... to drop away all the pretending to be someone else and just being something original and new... thus newborn...

for the time being its just a doodle, more to come soon... lemme know what you think in my thread:

Damnit I'm gonna have no time to finish this before the cut. I guess I'll continue to work on it after the weekend and post later.

Nerahla - Looks good, but give her a neck.
    agnostes - Nice feel.
harris-ejaz - Thanks, I looked into the neck... BTW, I really like your queen concept.
Hideyoshi - Reminds me of The Last Guardian.
OTTA - I like the idea. Would like to see more "Angel" involved, than just a wing. But that's just me.
    NicHolS - Cool concept.

As for me, I added some spit, filled in the "mom" more, and fixed the neck.

    DynamiteDill: she has one, thanks.

Curly I LOL'd so hard at what you said because you're so right, he WAS smaller initially but I cut it and xformed it bigger for less foreground without thinking about the perspective issues that might cause.

I'm going on vacation tomorrow to the beach and while I'll have internet access I highly doubt I'll be able to finish by Sunday due to all the detail that is demanded by the piece. I'll finish it, sure, but by Sunday? No idea.

curly: Lovely! I like how peaceful this is. Colors are great.

harris-ejaz: I'm really liking the designs of the Ifrits. Excited to see more.

Took a little mini vacation this past week, so wasn't able to get any drawing done on this. I was too busy concentrating on doing nothing. Excited to be jumping back on the bandwagon, though. Hopefully will finish in time.

I've gone back to my original piece (see page 1 of this thread). WIP below.

Question to the mods: if you submit a final piece for this CHOW, can you then work on the same piece some more and resubmit the improved version to the Newborn competition?

    ATTENTION PLEASE!

Now, I'm not a fan of pushing deadlines, but since this is for the Newborn contest, I'm willing to give you guys an extra few days if you need it, since I know our American brethren will be partying all weekend.

So please leave a note if you would like more time.

Please note that no matter what, the new round will be up as-per-usual on Sunday.

Question to the mods: if you submit a final piece for this CHOW, can you then work on the same piece some more and resubmit the improved version to the Newborn competition?
Yes, you are of course allowed to do this. The first deadline is for chow only, you can of course continue to develop it until Newborn's final deadline, but those changes won't go up in the chow poll.

Sweet deadline extensions! Those are always welcomed...but yes, I'd like to have mine finished before then. I'm posting a very very crappy thumb that could possibly resemble what the final might look like...

Hey guys. Havnt posted up in these forums for a good few years (although I have been watching intently).
Thought I'd make a return with an entry to the current CHOW! Heres a quick WIP whilst I get some time. Hope you like.

Would be pretty good for a few days extention. If most other folk will be I suppose we might as well use it to add on awesomeness.

Torop: Yes, of course. What's not allowed is to take work that was already in your gallery previously and submit it to chow. But anything you make here is yours and you can show it wherever you like. :]
