Thanks Raffix for the tutorial it actually sounds quite difficult to me carving out the bits not to be printed. Very cool though and I appreciate the tutorial. These last updates don't look bad at all.

Those studies are looking really good. As suggestion would be to draw in the entire figure though. I used to do the same types of studies and now I am starting to regret not drawing in the heads and hands on them. Chances are if you are not drawing them in it is a weakness you are avoiding. Even if you can draw a decent head it is a good idea to put them in your studies like this to help understand how it relates to the body and attaches with the neck and all.

    Fast acting there.

Also, feel like I've been handing out too many ass-pats of late so-

why not take your studies further and try to show us some form. I'm only saying it because It's something I'm having to do myself, but I don't see the harm of you trying it out too. Bonus points if you use some interesting lighting on the flesh.

nice rendering of that dude on the right. I have no crits for you really at the moment I'm afraid. I will have a look through some more of your work and try to get back to you on that.

One thing actually, just be careful not to overemphasise the latissimus dorsi from the front. Especially on women. These muscles as you know are rarely seen on women in that size, and to see them in that size is rare. I'm not saying its always happening, but its something to watch out for.

Keep on doing what you're doing!

hey man photobucket keeps eating your images. Just upload them with the CA one instead?

Nice start on the rendered man, now try going further and becoming more sensitive to the little nuances of value. it may help you to do a strip of 10 values, from lightest to darkest, then compare that to your ref image. Are you omitting any unknowingly? Skipping over mid-tones? That should be able to tell you.

Or you could argue with Photobucket - I've done it and won, but it is easier just loading them straight here.

The sketches look fine, but you need to find a life class near you to really test yourself.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Some great rendering you got there.
As said before, your hands and feet aren't as detailed as the rest of the body.

I'm guilty of this myself, but I learned drawing the full body, and not just the parts your are good at or like, strengthens you even more.

You going straight to uni after A levels?
beacause if so, even on the isle of man, (where unis apparently eat our students up because of the fact our gov pays us students full grants) we'd have trouble going straight into uni from our A levels regardless of how good we are. I know two girls much better than me who couldn't get an interview in any uni, so they have no choice but to go to collage first.

You might have to do the same as us if that doesn't work, I don't know. But either way, atleast you have an interview so It's not all over yet.

Now, rambling aside, I really like your last pictures, particularly the middle one, since her features are the most spot on. Your shading's as good as ever, but I think the eyes on your selfportrait are looking a bit on the small side.

Anyways, good luck on your endeavors and keep up the good work mate.- I'm sure things'll work out for the best.

i like the linework on the last one, some fantastic things seem to happen when you draw quickly, those lines couldn't be achieved otherwise i'd imagine

congrats on the school! im currently getting my portfolio ready to apply as well

Dude, I'm 16 (17 in like 3 months) looking to go to art school as well, and man, I think I'm starting to feel the pressure... I love your hatching, it's my favourite form of shading too!

P.S: Do you do A-Level art? I don't... yeah... Anyways, keep it up!
