    It's been a while..
I myself wouldn't remember how long it's been, if there weren't a date on the post..

Hello everyone, and sorry for the wait!
I have had a busy year, filled with exams, but for now, it is over.

I am officially starting my holiday today, so here I am.
    Back.And drawing.

Thank you everyone for checking back in now and then, and for the support you have given me!!

Note regarding the drawings, the first two are from way back in (OMG) december, and the others are from today.
Didn't feel right, posting without more recent art. And didn't feel right not getting back in here, now that I had the possibility.

    Good to be here again

    Yay! *claps hands*

The caricature is very nice. Seems you've been practicing while in your exams.

Good thumbnails, too. I want to see the finished products Make sure they're proper thumbnails first, though... don't make 'em too big

It's good to see you back and drawing Enjoy your holidays!

Thank you sage, very little though.
I think i'll practice a few more of these for the next couple of days, to get back in hand again first.

A few figure studies from tonight. I really need to get in hand again, these are awful!

Hey, thanks for that nice comment in my SB. Good to see your progress.

Right now it feels like you are trying to go in too many directions at once. Try to really push yourself. After that character studys, try do a worked out human. Dont care about the pose, just get the proportions right (and check if they really are ) If thats ok, take it one step further and see how far you can take the muscles...

    Keep it up

Vaejoun - Thank you for your comment as well, it helped me get that extra determination i needed to really push it even further.
I'll start a figure drawing, and really really work on it!

    Finished that digital landscape.
Tried adding a bit of photoshop magic to it, see where it leads to.

I think my cross-hatching isn't working so well on my figures, I certainly aren't pleased with it.
So i'll be doing lots of figures until i am.

whisperss - i recognized the little fluff ball right away, that is one cute kiwi, thank you whisp!

I'll be gone for a week or so, going to take that long awaited holiday. I'll be taking a few books to read, but pencil and paper as well.
So this time i'm not disappearing, just 'taking a nap' .
Until then, a few scribbles, getting used to flow and opacity again..still not there
And tried taking a figure a bit further, concentrating on the proportions, and then on muscles etc..
messed half way there, and ruined the proportions and then the muscles. Need to draw more more n more..

Wow... you're just cranking out work aren't you?

Watch the torsos... they're looking a bit long from the bottom of the ribs to the hips (like a tube of toothpaste).

cifgha - Thank you, no didn't have any influence, though I'm not sure to which you are referring to.
Just imagination, and in case of the filter-winter image, a reference.

p sage - spot on remark, thank you sage!

LtPlissken- you're right! i actually have the 25th comment! heh thank you for paying me a visit.

whisperss - sure tried! to much though

Back and tired. I need a vacation from my vacation xD
Didn't do much drawing, but it seems it did well to my patience. Last two back studies are from today.
The one on the left is a DaVinci study, the one on the left is a study i did from a regular figure.

Looking back on my other studies and at the current ones, I wonder if I wouldn't be getting better results
if I'd focus on landscapes and nature, rather then on humans..

    Brandon Pilcher - thank you

A bit more digital stuff this time. I applied what I learned from my pencil studies.
I started out with a 5H for proportions and basic shapes in my traditional back study,
so I tried applying the same to my digital study, lowering the opacity.

It worked, feels a lot more comfortable now.

p sage - and i'm beginning to get more and more used to the new settings, thank you sage for your visit

m0uS3r - long time no see indeed, thank you for dropping by!

oren90 - and good to see so many familiar faces, thanks oren

Guess doing studies continuously have started to pay off. First figure study is from that ref,
trying to apply what I have learned in the past. With the new very low opacity brush that I'm sketching,
I feel comfortable drawing all the construction lines that I need.

Hmm, i think that breaking body parts into easy segments will help you alot while struggling with anatomy. Check out Michael hampton's book:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ima...283155&s=books

Oh yeah one more thing hon, try think like that straight against curve, more straight lines when the form is simple, you use too much of eliptical shapes.
Have a great day Cristina, and remmember don't give up!

Your proportions are getting better and better, and the Bammes seems to be suiting you very well. Have you ever tried drawing something by the negative space? Drawing the shape of the space where the object isn't. link You seem to get trapped into what you thing a body should look like sometimes and that might help you break out of that a bit.

0shade0 - quite possible, and thanks

Icecold - I found hi book and looked through it, but it's not the type of construction I like..idk,
I just prefer bammes more; and thanks for pointing out the straight lines ice, I'll try seeing more square and rectangle when possible

LtPlissken - thank you Lt., will do

Pixie Trick - what a body should look like:? I don't understand what you mean by that.. and yes, I have tried negative space a while ago but I forgot about it! could come in handy when drawing legs or hands hmm

    A bit more figure study.
I think I figured something out xD will have to practice more!

Tried doing BlackSpot's portrait and see how good I can get the resemblance. I still have a lot of problems with head proportions.

    Thumbs up

Nice Hogarth you got going there, Cristina! With those two back-hams

I'm really liking your figure drawings too... they seem so much more confident now, and the proportions are better

Hey there, long time no see, you are getting better.

If you don't mind i will like to say some things about what i see.
First problem i see is that some of your studies look so different from others.
I think this can be because sometimes you do the studies mindlessly or you try to achieve a different style, i don't know whats going on really but this are some things that you could take and think about,
Don't draw and study just to have quantity so you can post a lot of stuff, quantity will rich quality at some point but sometimes its good to just stay there look and take even 5 minutes before making a single line, make sure you get the most out of your studies, don't rush take your time.

    Anyway great improvement.
    Stay excellent!
