The robotic cat is cool. A lotta detail which is awesome, I'd say darken up some lines for it can be more vivid. The small head sketches are nice too, I like the style your taking, big eyes but not super big anime eyes. Perhaps some referenced portrait studies would do you some good. Keep going.

    ladyknowles - Thanks!

Flanagan - Thank you, i actually intend to make it a more realistic drawing, with blending n such,
and then frame it. It was made for that purpose. More portraits will come!

[ste] - Thanks! I plan in doing so.

Danny_K - Great! Happy to hear that Danny!! Lets see what that baby can do!
heh more pencil indeed, but not this time, more watercolours; I missed them

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Crappy heads, DON'T look at them!! xD
Had to do some drawing for school, for some poetry, and watercolour seemed more fit for the subjects.
I'm not at all pleased with them, though I am glad I can mix better the colours I have. Though it gets frustrating,
when you finish the colour from the brush, and have to mix 4 colours again, in that precise combination
First one had a sketch, the 2nd only a reference, and the 3rd from imagination.

More progress on the cheetah, and some hands studies. After loomis, and after my own.

    inspectorsokar - thank you!

Danny_K - you sure didn't kid around when you said you'd be up n running again! thank you danny

Did a bit of pencil drawing, but i didn't scan it in.
More still life from life. Tried to capture a sort of magical feeling, but it didn't turn out right.. Got all depressed cuzz nothing wasn't working any more, except watercolours, and that doesn't count! So I remembered that in times like these, i'd study anatomy. Experimented, and found a new way of figure drawing witch i'd prefer. Thing i'll stick to this one a while, see what happens I used nud refs, but after a while i got creative and added clothes, and in the mermaid's case, a tail as well heh.

Refs are mainly from here Finally! I found some not so skinny models, and as a bonus, they have rosy knees. I like that!
I tried remembering as much as possible from the knee construction, and tried applying. Didn't get the right angle though, i know that T.T

    Whoah! Good improvement, Cristina!

Landscapes look great, and I highly approve of the hand studies and the mechanical cat.

On figures: are you using any of the typical approaches (IE Loomis, Hogarth, Reilly, Vilppu?)

    Keep it up!

    happy new year
sweet eye candy, i love those two girls, they look so tasty the values in your photo studies are improving, especially the ones in post #932 & 936 with the grainy brush and you painted the grass really well in the value/environment study in post #940 nice lips for the girl at the end of the same post too i really dig the forestry in post #950 it looks so dark an moody, you made very nice use of custom bushes there. the cheetah mech rocks, the fact that it looks like it's got actual moving parts makes it an even more convincing concept, maybe you could devide the neck like you did the tail so it have a bit more free to move. love the colors in that still life in the lat post

Hi, I like those watercolor environments you did...and that last still life, lovely colors! And I love the way the light is reflecting off the blue bottle and other stuff-the only thing is that the purple thing on the table is confusing. Is it some sort of liquid that's spilled out of the bottle? Or a scrunchy piece of cloth? I really can't tell. Actually it looks like a sort of putty.

Love the cheetah! I think it's great the way you're capturing the dents and imperfections of the original. Can't wait to see it finished.

    Hi

Look at you and your 10 pages more since last April. Look at the cute pic of yourself that you drew here.

Really excited about your progress, Cristina. In your recent stuff, I like your characters and am interested to see how you finish your robocheetah.
