Thank you everyone for your comments!

I'm posting this thinking that perhaps this has happened to you too?
Last time i opened photoshop, the brush was all messed up! The black jittery stuff you see there is the airbrush!!! blue, red, grey is the hard round and a different tip shape, set to pressure or not; and the white across is the eraser! IT WORKS PERFECTLY SMOOTH?!!! WHYYY? Has this ever happened to you?

If I don't find out what caused it, I guess I shall have to reinstall photohop and hope for the best. But i am really curious to find out what is wrong. I love my photoshop, and i want to know his as well as possible

Tried drawing with this actually, but it wasn't funny any more after a while..
Rushed, 10min or so. I know there are errors.

Tried another windows paint drawing with the mouse. Values, after the one i did in photoshop.

Not a bad job even with photoshop playing up. Not sure what has caused it, did you check the document settings, maybe they have changed and its in the wrong colour mode when you open up a new document.

The only problem I ever get is no pressure sensitivity and that only happens if I don't let photoshop load up and start clicking on other windows before its finished.

    Hope you get it sorted.

[ste] - it was set to GRAIN!! the brush! itself! i didn't even know you can do that haha; all bad for greater good i guess..
thanks for telling me about the pressure sensitivity! i had that problem too sometimes, but it would go away if i'd restart photohop; now i know why

I don't like replying without posting a little drawing, so here's what i was working, before the brush settings got all mixed up.
It's a bit more of eye candy, but i'm trying different styles, see what works best for me.

Hmm...I think your brush error forced you to work really hard and think about what you were doing. I like the result

BludHund - It may be..I honestly am not aware of it xD

I wasn't satisfied with the eye candy, so i felt like doing another value study.
Now i can go learn. I'm satisfied heh.

I like the last value study, the bold marks gives it a nice solid feel. The heads look a little small on the two girls but the poses help give them character. More!!

Hey. I have had PS slap me around quite a bit. you can get to that brush setting by pressing shit+alt ,and I think its some of the F keys, to mess up the brush settings. Other then that I sometimes accidently hit shift+b, I had a hard time figuring out it was now the Pencil tool and not the brush. Ones my PS decided that my images was in CMYK and that jolted me for like 5 peices befor I checked why it looked so weird.
Anyway. I want an update! I know I always ask for updates. Now be good and post.

[ste] Thanks! I'm experimenting some more with photoshop. And you are right, the head is smaller than it supposed to be! I was working against time, so it's filled with errors all over the place gah

Danny_K - so true! i should, shouldn't i. idk danny..with all the studying i do these days, it just feels more comfortable doing portraits; will do a couple when i'll have an actual weekend

B-Man - might be, though i changed a lot of settings in photoshop, so many that i even saved them for times like reinstallation. 5 peaces! took you a while, but at least you found out what it was. heh and you sure did remember that one!

Some more value studies, and a little colour splash. Trying to overlay and all..it's difficult to turn a grayscale in a realistic colour version..for now
Tried focusing more on the lips. I really really like drawing lips, they're fun!

I decided to really push it this month!
I drew yesterday, and I drew today. I miss good old times when i'd draw really every day, pressure, trying to get it as good as possible.
So i'll be trying to post each day again, getting in a few more drawings while it's still 2010! WOOHOO!

Values study again! I'm lovin' it

That last one is awesome! Well done! I especially love the values in the lower part of the picture. Can't stop staring.
Also, well done on posting regularly! The progress is obvious and it's inspiring!

    Last painting is great!

But there's one particular thing you need to work on, noses and mouths.
If i'd see 10 painted portriats i'd know wchich one's your right away.
You draw all your noses and mouths in a very similliar way.
It's a comfort zone, you need to get out of it

Your values are solid girl, just work on those masses and form.

Windmaker - Thank you kindly windmaker, i tried working more on the atmosphere with that one. More to come!

Icecold - You just had to point that out, didn't you! ;p ok..i admit..i tend to do that,
especially with noses..but mouths as well?! you're killing me! i'm actually trying to vary them T.T
Happy to hear my values have gotten better

More envo stuff this time. I need soooo much more practice with these!
Decided to repaint an older drawing that i did in march this year
added some colour on top to make it somewhat better comparable
Think i overdid it with the textures though..

    Nice growth spurt!

I've heard it said that changing up your style can do that...I guess I had better try it myself.

brambor - Thank you brambor, appreciate it.

B-Man - Yes indeed, could come in handy further on. Heh, thank you B, will try my best!

BludHund - Aah I haven't actually realized that. I've began using more custom brushes
and actually going from b&w to colour. I guess that's what experimenting leads to..

[ste] - Thanks a bunch ste! That one's my favourite from all my work so far.
It's good finishing drawings for a change. Not only studies, but more applying and reminding as well.

More experimenting with b&w to colour.
I've found some settings that I prefer and seem to work.
Got used to my custom brushes some more.

    This one's from imagination, 15min.
And them some more 15min to choose witch colour version to post haha

Lovely gray scales studies and drawings, especially that forest environment from post #945, great mood there.
Maybe try doing some studies from http://philippefaraut.com/store/reference-casts.html to help you with noses and mouths.
    Keep it up.

wicked portrait with the snow ! you are rockin the brushes just remember to focus on those edges when you're working out the description of the forms because if things are too soft it can be easy to get lost

Emil_ - Those are wonderful emil, thank you! So many to chose from!!

Zorcron - I sometimes like them way to soft, and sometimes to hard. I know i have to vary them,
and yet i still have problems with them. Will keep practising. Thank you zorcron, happy to see you here again.

Kristoff - And sadly worse as well. These aren't as good as i wanted them to be.

Kept my daily promise, but I might as call it only that: daily!
Not satisfied at all with these, didn't want even to post them,
so i compensate by uploading a small picture lol.

Hope to do better once school finishes. One more week to go!

there are some really nice studies in this thread, the problem is that you keep using specialized brushes. That in upon itself isn't a problem, it just makes your learning a lot less intense. Good colours though. Try and just juse a basic round brush, or a similar brush, it will probably teach you a lot more.

    Keep at it

Nisshoku - Thanks! I discovered how much i actually like drawing them.

Mischeviouslittleelf - I only use specialize brushes on envo grass n leafs, and skin pores.
I did draw the snow from the first winter scene myself, so when i have an idea, i try to manage without.
But i will try even without those i guess?

It's suppose to be holiday, but i still have lots more to learn, and some tests to give.
But i do have a couple more spare hours, so i'll try drawing better.

    (Andrew Chase is AWESOME! ))
Some crappy still life from life, and worked some more on the cheetah mech.
I wanted to draw some more traditional metal(like the stuff on my first cA page) and it's on A3.
Thought of doing something larger for a change. Yeah, tweaked the colours a bit, couldn't help myself.

Heya it's been a while I looove this one http://attachments.conceptart.org/fo...1&d=1291566585

The Android cat is great too hehe more values shadows and stuff and maybe make it look more metallic by adding some speculars? I know it's not easy to draw metal with pencil at first but if you observe how metal looks you'll get it after few tries.
Hows life, studies? hope your doing good?

Metal is actualy my favourite material rendering. If you'd take a look at my first cA page, you'll see some clocks i did a year ago.
It was my first try, and because i got it somewhat righ, i feel comfortable with it ever since. It's...life. You know the drill haha

I discovered my DPI! (basically it's that settings that makes you scann in larger, with more details). When i usually scanned,
i didn't think of customizing anything, so it was set to 150something!!! I set it to 449 now, and ooh the details!
Much cleaner, muuuch more details. Much more whiter for the matter of fact! No wonder one should work big..

I'm falling back with my studies, but I'm getting my rest, and i'm making better progress.
Holiday is here, so i should be able to catch up.

    More drawing. So much fun!
Browsed some more art, studies artists style, looked at their sketches and tried realizing what their lines meant.
Reminded me of my bridgman and loomis studies! So i did a bunch from imagination. Need to do more, more more!
