    Orphan Works Bill: Round 2

I didn't see any threads on the latest news, so I thought I'd post up a link that got sent my way today. Apparently the second push is on.

I know Jason Manley and the rest of his talented team have already stepped up defenses for the art community through the advanced functionality of CA.org, but I thought everyone might like to still see what's going on. If anything, it would seem reminding art friends and peers that there are certain protections available here would be a good idea.

    Here's the link:

... a cry went up into the shuddering air, and faded to a shrill wailing, passing with the wind, a voice bodiless and thin that died, and was swallowed up, and was never heard again in that age of this world.

This will happen everywhere if it passes.

The example of Ecuador was neat and shows how short sighted some law makers are.

That example doesn't even begin to fall under usage as an Orphan Work. It's just plain old copyright infringement, and it will still be illegal if Orphan Works legislation passes.
