Nice environments! I like how you decided to stick those characters in the pictures to help show the scale of everything. So simple but a lot of people don't do that. Keep it up!

Thanks dude! It's on character design and the role it plays within modern video games, so it's interesting but it just makes me want to draw characters instead of just writing about them

Thanks RBeek! Yeah i only had about an hour so paint that. It was like the first visual from the project too. There was no info on how anything looked at the time so i had to make up the art style as i went along. Yes my last name is Holland

Some recent doodles and character models

Dave's Sketchbook ... A bit from the good old sketchbook. Drawings from on-site at the New York Highline, Met Museum, and from the model.

Yeah they're low poly versions of some characters i posted previously. Built and textured in 3ds max, around 1000 to 5000 tris with 1024 diffuse, spec and normal maps. I'm currently finishing my final year of games art at Teesside uni in England. It was a pretty fun course, learned a lot about 3D but not a lot about the concept side of things

Bad...ASS!!! Something about your style pulls me in. I need to try doing character thumbnails the way you do XD I like the simplicity in some of your environments and yet they seem to tell a lot. Keep it up

Heya Dave, glad to know you're still around!

Have a crit. On the 3rd image, that central hole in the background structure "fights" with the form, looks a bit out of place.

Other than that, cool graphic stuff
