Hommage to Lux Interior, the singer of the Cramps, died in febuary (the human fly, on the left, it's him ^^).
"Human Fly" is an old song of this group. This picture refered to the Cramps universe (B movies/pin ups/Psychobilly and rock n'roll/etc ..).
I used my beloved one as model for the pinup and webcam and photo ref for the hands.
The tatoo is originaly a sketch of Junko Mizuno.
Done with Photoshop.
Hope you'll like it.
Wow. great piece. such clean rendering.

Yeah nice rendering. I love the skin tones on these Goth charactors.
Great stuff, and nice tribute.
awezome! nice pictuer, great colors, sleak rendering, im a little woried about the girls pose though.
she seems to be tilting to the left, and i think she whould fall over standing like that.
Thx for all your comments and kind words ^^
Lotet : You're absolutery right, she would fall or be in a very strange position. But I wanted her to be in a dynamic station ^^
Yep, that feels like Lux alright.

Thx a lot for all you feedback !
Great work, like your clean style.
It's time to kick the tires' and light the fires' big daddy...
I am speaking without emotion. Your piece made me think a lot, so I think your piece is worth sharing my eye ("eyeballs eyeballs eyeballs, eyeballs everywhere!!!") instead of simply massaging you.
As it is, I think it's a little confusing to keep the female figure so close to the male figure's left hand. For composition's sake, i would have taken the female figure more to the right, though not entirely separated from the male figure. Besides placement concerning form, it's also a little confusing to have that beautiful matte black/grey/blue of the female's dress next to the gloss of the white and pink tints of his hand. The tones push the curve of her ass back, sure, but the warmer colors naturally want to push forward as well. I feel this causes a disconnect for the viewer with the piece's concept of space. Again, taking her form farther away from his might solve this space vacuum without having to reconsider the colors, but keeping it there with those colors isn't as successful.
As for the slanting figure....
It's not slanted. In fact, she's actually pulling her right shoulder back, arcing her gracefully to the left..a good movement interacting with the subject of the fly and the attitude of The Cramps. She recoils, and at the same time presents her curves as a display of power. I feel as though the form of her torso is one of the most successful aspects of this piece. I would have liked to see more of this Cramp-esque attitude in her head tilt as well as in the male form's facial expression. The detailed straps of his fly wings, for example, bring about a sense of that macabre camp The Cramps are--however, his face seems so ghastly... its a little more difficult to have fun with that kind of dark side.
Again, her form is not slanted. If you crop the image with the bottom of your browser window, one can clearly see this. It is the positioning of the right leg that causes the illusion of a slant.
Instead of tucking that right leg against her left, I would take it straight down, since her weight appears to be planted from there. Otherwise, she appears to be floating and causing other associative form problems.
Love your work, can tell you are passionate about it.
Again, I'm not "just trying to help", I'm simply giving you my personal interpretations from a critical perspective. Others' BS is the best to hear. I know us artists get sick of our own ...hah
plus, nit-picking critiques are the only kind to give in my opinion.
Thx a lot juliamaria. Very constructive comment. I like that ^^
uah, man sweet piece! Can't tell you how much I love the rendering of her clothing! yummyumm
