Will try! I can't really produce that quality without spending 4hours+ on it though. And I'm not sure about the rules for sketchbooks.

    Another quickie, about 15 min.

Xo: Thanks! Although I'd need a real bird to do the actual study, and I don't think any birds in the real world looks like the one I drew from my head, haha!

The other day I saw someone getting really fascinated while playing a handheld device. Should have brought my camera! (Or my sketch book for that matter!)

Tried to re-do the scene from my head. Failed, but the emotion is somewhat there.

And some old stuff from a month ago, since I never uploaded them anyway.

Hey Neo, I might, haha. It'll be in my head forever, so if one day I need a wraith type of guy in a picture... I know where to look. ;3

Sketch group today was awesome. Had to leave by noon for a physics exam though, but I think I did well on that test. Go HD! (It's going to balance out my other grades anyway)

Xavier dude, a nice start to your sketchbook! Still love your Meerkat of Death! The kitten in the egg carton at the top is great too.

With the second-last update, be sure not to be too quick and loose... some of the quick sketches are a little too "bleh", if you catch my drift.

Please give erudite, constructive critiques or give none at all.

Great studies! personally i really like the cat but there is something a bit off about his "face" I think it would help you if you would mirror your images more it makes it easier to spot whats off and whats on!
    keep it up! great stuff!

Phil, Neo, thanks for the comments! I really agree sometimes I rush too much and end up with scribbly non-sense. I'll try my best to take my time.

sjuskdur, I did it but I really can't tell the difference! But I don't have the reference anymore =(, sorry. I'll definitely check it more often in the future!

Today internet went down for an hour (*sigh*) But I drew! Woohoo.

your still life paintings r great ! if u want to improve on anatomical and constructional drawings better start with the basics like referring to a good anatomy book apart from drawing from life, as well as drawing cubical forms in perspective for starters, later on fitting objects (it can be the things from ur daily use like for eg. the stapler, psp, plug or else the bridge) in them.

    Hey spaxe !

still i think you have some cool ideas set into your paintings ... and i guess the perspektiv thing isnt the easiest one especially without a ruler just keep training...

for your hand studies just 1 thing to thing about ... maybe you get the xrays or stuff so you can the the anatomy of the bones but basically hands / fingers ar splitted in 3 parts eacht a bit shorter.. maybe you mark thoes edges ? dont know the word in english so you have a better view on how long they have to be and where you can bend them ...

    greez xo

I think what xo is trying to say is draw as if u have x ray vision. Imagine the form that are being obscured to draw those that are being revealed... U can even draw through the form in front, lightly of cos so that ur picture dont turn messy.

NikhilSalvi: Yeah, I really need to do that. Soon my friend. Soon.

Xo: Haha, the perspective was... how do I even began. Yes, I messed it up. And I knew it was wrong, but it was done in pen and markers and I can't fix it!! So I just let it be. Oh well.

I think I get what you mean by the x-ray and the 3 parts, each shorter thing. I didn't really go deep into defining each finger section. I should look into that. Thanks a lot!

Neo: lol, I should also clean up my stuff, hmm? :]

    -

I lost internet for 2 days. TWO DAYS! Gawd that almost drove me crazy. We bought a new modem/router now, and I'm in control. So hopefully that settles the thing.

Finally did some life drawing with a friend. Haven't had one for at least a year, and that was very helpful. I found my proportions for the human body is still very wrong, and I have little knowledge on the anatomy. Really need to dig into that, but here are some of the better drawings I had.

    hey again

aehmmm I guess the proportions in the second scan are a bit off but the others are allright i guess maybe there are missing quaters of inches here and there but it does not mess the perspectiv so keep up!

Edit : the last scan you should redo the legs they are to short ... havent seen it before because internet at the firm is not thefastes one =)

Not too shabby after such a long time of hiatus ... The best way to improve is to probably look up some book on figure proportions. Not so much to memorize anyway. (the big shape at least) and after that is just draw as much as possible and drill that info into ur subconscious...

Xo.: Yeah, the proportions are off. I don't know if I can "redo" them though.. would need the model in the same pose.

strings: Thanks for the comments! I love your storyboards, too. And your markers!

Phil, Leonard: I still laugh when I read through your posts, haha.

Neo: Yeah, agreed. The question is when I'll actually get my butt up to do it.

    Some doodling for today.

I like your creatures - especially that hog dino antelope thing with the gun! look like your anatomy from imagination could use some work, so it's good you're doing some life drawing, keep practicing!

Neo: Yeah, but I need to go beyond! Still looking for a style that has consistency..

papervampire: I will do more work. Thanks!

Here's a thumbnail I quickly sketched tonight. Didn't have much motivation for some reason (after exams, and there's one tomorrow, maybe) but I will develop more on it tomorrow. Sorry for slacking for a day.
