Just a little tip about taking photos of your work. Try doing it in natural light, near the window during the day time.

It's a good tip, but honestly... I rarely use it. lol. BUT, it does wonders for picture taking!

Nice update you've got here. I like your arrows and little birds.

Wing: Thanks for stopping by, finally

AdrienneRose: My pictures really suck. I usually let work pile up and then get lazy to get quality pictures.

RockingRat: Yeah, I am trying haha Working on more.

Nice gestures and shapes on this page http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...2&d=1370308302.... it would be great to see how you resolve some of those fast figures into more resolved illustrations.

I like your characters, they look great, hope you'll do more of them and more finished))) Traditional portrait looks very promising as well, nice brush strokes))

    More refined line exploration

    Portrait of chosen character

    First "draft" of character

Nearly finished.. Might do some more changes

I love those poses! and the way you break down your studies into abstract shapes, that really helped me with environments, What might help that last cgma dude is an overlay layer of greyish blue or green to tie in all the other zombie -ish tones. Just some random things i noticed-take them with a grain of salt. I loveyour line explorations, seems like a great way to combine working on the silhouette and the main idea for the character at the same time, might try it sometime. Love your work and cant wait to see more

Thanks a lot for the nice words. I will try to play around with the colors in that painting, not too happy with them. And try out those steps. Reference > Thumbnails > Quick line > Refined line > Head study > Final. Its helping me a lot.

So I am trying to make posting every day a thing. So Small update today. New character: King Slayer.

Last character I did was for a class so it took 8 weeks. I want to do this one in two tops. Starting thumbnails. Wanna do around 60. Go go go. Draw. Draw.

    EDIT:

A quick doodle of something that I might turn into a painting.

So I think I solved my issue with being lazy and not wanting to work. Just have a million different pieces going on at the same time! Its been keeping me excited about my work, even though it might not be the most effective way of doing things. Who cares.

So pushing two thumbnails. Got more line cleaning to do.

You got a whole lot better! (in response to the big bold text in the first page =P). Keep going, I really like your life paintings.

Shoulder to the wheel, my friend!

I read that you are only 16 years old, and I mean if you are this
good at that age then I honestly think that you will do ground breaking
marvelous paintings in a few years from now. I went through your sketchbook
and I can tell that there are humongous improvements, big potential under
your armor covered silver skin. You’re got your hands on some useful drawing
books, you are using them wisely and I cannot see any reason that things will
going to go wrong. Just keep on working, mix in studies with fun and imaginary
paintings, keep everything joyful and vibrant, so you could not go bored.
The proportions and the values are now better than before, I was observing
the older pieces and I can see that you’re fixed up some crucial subjects,
and you closed some obvious holes in your general game plan. I think that
doing traditional painting and digital in the same time are an indestructible
combination, like you have two double barreled cannons on your both shoulders.
Don’t have anything else to say, except to keep on going this way, keep the
water out from your wooden boat, and never give up doing art.
