Nice one. Your stuff is looking so much more volumetric. You could swear that figure is made of hard plastic. Excellent progress.

This cup, too, from someone else's thread looked great... the third dimension is your bitch, now

    Keep studying those heads!

Some good proportions, Kev. His left wrist looks out of whack.

Come to think of it, you're drawing him a little bit "flyswatted" or "roadkilled" as Myron might put it.

Maybe the chainmail has a brighter light on it than the legs... the value/contrast relationship seems a bit off.

The figure has weight, which is great

    more sketchin

p sage: Thanks Sage. Yeah things like the wrist are more design at this stage, just playing with ideas, I wanted his wrist on the same gambit as his other major lines. My "shading' is quick and not good. I agree.

a couple more. just trying to get something sketched a day.

Left side done with sketchclub on the ipad, right & bottom in ps.

I'm digging that design, Kevin. The ellipse running through both shoulders, arms and the knee is cool. Good arabesque.

I think the overall figure is off balance, though (looks like he'll fall over)... but the color scheme is good and the design is nice.

Hey, Zaz! Your stuff looks nice, sir! I figured I'd drop by and say hi.

Have you seen the new Barnstone related site? You may already know about it. It's www.learntodrawanddesign.com. I guess now you can purchase lessons individually and download them. There's a cool poster at the bottom of the main page showing Myron's artistic lineage.

I like the design of the silhouette. On the first figure, I think the angle and structure of the head may be off but im a newb so it may just be my imagination.

Hey Kev.... Have you begun to distort your figures at all? You don't have to give me that secret if you don't want to () maybe PM me... but there are some obvious issues with your SP. Maybe I should stare at it longer and figure out the answer myself. It's pretty good, actually.

On another note thank gawd you or John posted recently.... it's been really tough to bite my tongue instead of do critiques everywhere ... lol.

Hey Zazerzs I'm glad your alive and posting. I really like the honey coloured monster. He is bulky and should be menacing but kinda has a cute appeal due to the pose and his facial expression. Hope to see more soon.

Hey, Man, how's it goin'? That last creature is looking real nice. It's got a nice rhythm and flow. It looks like you've had a breakthrough. I also like you how you're getting into a more painterly approach now!

    iven: Thank you .

    ....Gasp.....

It's been forever and all I've got are doodles I've done during meetings... and another late night quickly.

and a couple of sketchbook pages I didn't scan from a while ago.

I like how you are breaking forms into 3d shapes. It is an interesting approach to the figure. I like using a lot of straight lines when I am gesture drawing, I feel like they are teh most accurate and deliberate. Your neck and chin anatomy is consistently off, I have the same problem so I dont really have a good solution, but it is something to think about.
