Itís that time of the year again. Update april 12.

Hello everyone. I finally got around to making a sketchbook thread. Hopefully it will motivate me to do more studies and such.

Here of is a pencil drawing I did using the cover of a tattoo magazine as reference. Next are a few character concepts, a study from a characterdesigns.com image and some random figures from imagination (I need to do more of these...)

Thanks for the comment Jesus Food. Good call on the stiff spines. It did not occur to me, will work on loosening them up.

Here is the linework for a picture I did for a competition. Its videogame characters fighting. Bloodrayne has just cut Sora from Kingdom Hearts in two. Sad day for him.

Wow, you have a pretty awesome sketch book yourself! I love the girl in your first post, the one where it looks like she is looking at something in her hands, awesome shading!

I think itís about time for an update. I have been lazy updating but not lazy drawing.

Here is a page of randomness from a sketchpad that I scanned and did some rendering and lighting practice on.

Got back to rendering this today. Finished the other arm and did some more work one the hair. Did some minor nickpicking here and there which was mostly pointless. Added some outlines to try and tighten it up a bit. Decided that I donít much like the look of it but Iím still going to finish it. She will be holding some kind of magic fire or whatever. That is where the light is coming from.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Some progress and a few figure drawing sketches. They are too big for the scanner so I took some less than fantastic photos.

Thanks for your comment at my sketchbook. You've got nice drawings here. I liked a lot that guy playing the keyboard.

The girl holding the magic fire is coming along nicely. For a crit, the shape of her belly mound looks a bit small. Maybe take a look as Dan Dos Santos' 'Moon Called'; that character has a similar body type to yours. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the critique Dierat. I will do something about the proportions. Luckily thatís not so hard to fix in digital painting.

Some studies. The second picture is a study of a painting by Odd Nerdrum called buried alive.

I will be abroad working for three weeks so maybe I wonít be able to update so often. Hopefully I will find time to sketch though.

    Thanks for the comments!

Some more updates. First is a character design that I have done for a friendís film project. I will make several more characters. Second is a Leonardo study and then some quick figure practice from memory.

The bearded guy is a character for comic that I plan to make. It should be finished within the next 100 years. I am trying to find a style that is more simple and better suited for comics. Last is something I am working on just for fun. It is not finished yet, I will ad more details.
