Sweet, I've got to take care of some paintings, but after that I'm going to start organizing.

BTW, Great portrait, I love that right eye, it's got a lot of life and viscosity.

    hey hala!

sweeet stuff in here! keep it up! careful with the values like in your self portrait, save those really dark blacks/greys for the really dark spots and the little bits like the nose holes, where the cast shadows go etc.
if youve ever seen the zhang lu video,he uses a midtone grey as thats just a bit darker for the shadows when hes drawing first, and saves the reallly dark ones later and uses them much like youd use highlights which is only in certain areas and sparingly.
    heres a good example,
    http://www.webcastr.com/thumbnails/v...y-webcastr.jpg

notice how his shadows arent black, theyre still midtones, just darker. limiting values liek that sort of help give it more form.

hope that made sense and that it helped . looking forward to your updates

    here
"It looks like you're making attempts to break the body down into shapes, but without a clear structure underneath. practice making some wireframe anatomiesss ,and hope you post more often!"

wondering if you mean wireframes like in computer graphic surfaces (showing contours), or stick-figure like construction. either way, any pointers in a helpful direction would be appreciated.

the second girl in your latest update is so intense. love it.

That last batch of portraits is great, so much attitude and personality, especially in the 2nd one. If thats what you make when you disregard accuracy I say just forget it all together!

    Hi Larissa, how you been?
Wonderful portraits, lovin' the style, and your expressing some attitude in them to which I like... there not just paintings of heads, there portraits of people.

Good stuff, I hope life's treating you well, and that uin's going alright
    You take care now,

bah!! i'm so sorry for notbeing here guys!!

I have gone totally balls to the wall with my classes. which means i have no time to update here ever

here's a sketch from a long ass time ago (september)

I am gonna make a comeback!
without CA i have no motivation, and no friends.

    I can't guarantee anything i post will be good---when i draw it's just to not lose my skills, which have already gone down the drain by no means am i'm trying to get nice line work--that takes time for me that I don't have. ><;;;;;

    k 'nuff talk
i will try and post as often as i can again

    miss u guys a lot

i'm really sorry for not coming back to post. i ended up staying in the school I'm at , regretfully, and had a hell of a semester. I know college teachers are supposed to be tough, but I don't think they have a right to abuse your personality or way of life, and my main teacher does that. Critique the shit out of my work--fine i want that. But critiquing somebody as a person when u kno nothing about them--fuck off.

I also broke up with my boyfriend of almost 2 yrs and so I just haven't felt like doing anything or drawing anything serious.

here's just some junk i did over the pst couple days. it really sucks, i can't wait to get back into studying anatomy and prepping for team CHOW III (YAY)

any body have any advice for learning the anatomy of animals?????
i want to do a picture with a german shepherd but i don't know how to draw their body shape under all the fur. any books/links would be great --

edit: sorry about the big files i changed it now.
edit edit: i'm sorry i dunno why some of the pictures won't load : (
