I have some "tests" I did, but im embaressed to show you.
it's clear I need practice but I don't know where to start, and im wondering if you guys could help me on what I should be practicing.

Put a brick on a white sheet and start painting it. You will be practising value, colour, cast shadows, reflected light, perspective, volume and (least important) texture in all their most straightforward and basic forms.
When you have done this, move the brick a little and do it again. When you have done this, change your position and do another one and so on.
Believe me this will do you nothing but good and every second spent will be worth more to you than every corresponding hour spent having lovely thoughts reading a 'how to paint' book.

LOL! I´m sure you will find one....
Anyway, also open a sketchbook thread and post your results, no matter how lame they are. You might have some great toughts from the people around here. This is the place: http://conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41

Lookin' pretty good--you seem to be getting some pretty accurate color (especially in number 4). Have you done any traditional painting (acrylics, oils, etc.)? Most people tend to start out traditionally before jumping into digital. There's a lot you can learn that way. But, then again, there are some people who start digital. So it's up to you.
