    Project Trico

from the people that brought you ICO and Shadow of the Colossus comes Project Trico.

Looks like we'll be crying or feeling like an ass again.

I sincerely, sincerely hope that this game really does end up just being about having adventures in a pretty environment with your animal buddy. That would be the best.

I hope you don't have to kill that catmousebirdthing, because that is seriously the best catmousebirdthing I have ever seen in a video game.

If you look around 3:20-3:30 you can see that it is riddled with arrows. I have a feeling that thing is gonna sacrifice itself for you at some point and leave every gamers cheetos soggy with tears. It looks like this will be a bit of a mash up of Ico and Shadows. It looks like the griffin thing is playing the role of the girl a bit, in that you have to leave it from time to time to negotiate a way through the board. There is a point in the vid where you see the boy heading down a trail and the griffin thing is sitting on a pillar looking to be yelping a bit like a puppy when its master leaves. And like Shadows in that you will be using that thing as a make shift ladder, elevator, etc.

The Griffen has arrows in his butt. That's not a good sign

(scooped from above on the arrows by Hookswords )

The game looks very nice so far, though.

If that animal dies I'm going to need someone to coax me out of the resulting fetal position and tear coma.

On a more serious note, I'm so excited for this game that it's ridiculous.

It could still be the adventures of a plucky kid and his cool animal sidekick. Why must you ruin all my dreams, Hookswords. :C

Yeah I'm pretty excited about the combination in gameplay mechanics, I'm just hoping the catbirdmousegryphon thing isn't as ANNOYING as Yorda. It does look like it can walk up and down stairs by itself, though, so probably we're safe from that.

You know when I read the name of this thread I had a feeling it had something to do the makers of those 2 games. I'm glad I was right.

Well, here's hoping that it actually gets the attention that it deserves. Ico, even though it had high ratings, hardly got any attention.

News from E3: The game's official title is "The Last Guardian".

Also, the officially released trailer looks even prettier that the unfinished, leaked version above: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-the-last/50284

Makes me sort of wish I had a PS3.

EDIT: And here it is in HD, if you prefer: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-the-last/50352
