Well, how about that. Photobucket seems to have removed anything that shows 'nudity' and I can understand that. Theese days, there are few things in this world that are more offensive than the human body.

Anyway, It's been a while. Haven't drawn too much at all. It turns out, I will most likely not recieve any financial aid, so no Florence atelier adventure on me. Picked up the penncil a few days ago, preparing to re-learn everything. With the exeption of a few inept doodles, this is pretty much everything I have drawn the last five weeks.

It feels like a pretty mayor step foward for me and I plan to make it into a some sort of illustration series, focusing on simple themes, like time, death, dreams etc. I'm (sadly?) getting idea of pherhaps not being able to attend the school in Italy, and well, I have been beat down before, but damnit! There can only be progress through hardship, right?

cloakedmouse: Thanks for leaving a reply! Just draw alot and focus on the right things, and you will definately improve.

octopus_interphone: I agree completely. I kinda dislike how the whole thing turned out, though...can't seem to want to fix any problems without starting over.

U have some badass stuff goin on in here. you're faces look sweet, they have just the right amount of contrast in my opinion. i see a lot of faces on here that don't have enough contrast and i think u have it down. i'm glad to see a mutant here and there in your thread, that last one you posted looks sweet. if i were to crit anything i'd say to work on your skin texture, or coloring. the last post of the mutant is a good example, if u just punched up the highlights a little on his deltoid and around on his face it would look sweet, check out carlos huante's stuff to get and idea of what i mean. keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear about the school mate, you know that I wish you the best!!!
in the middle time lets keep working!!
    About this last piece:
The only thing that I think that could be improved is the way you rendered the
lips on the guy that is on the left down corner, the one with the spieky hair,
and the eye are aligned on straigth line and that is flateing the head cilinder a
little bit...aside that the cartoony faces on the middle are just fcking "A" so
does the skull monster, color combination seems to be going well, and the
handsare just a marvel to wach, keep working on it, it looks like a really good
portafolio piece and it screams n0fish, I mean that it really is got personality

    BEST OF LUCK!!!

Don't be down if you miss out on the school this time around, you have amazing skill and abilty to learn regardless - this may be what you need to explore things you wouldn't have otherwise.

I love the sublety of this last peice, at first I didn't notice how the hands connect to the rest of the picture (ok maybe just blind) one suggestion would be to bring just a little bit more of the blue into the the top half of the picture, like the trees, to bring it together more. Other than that I can't look away from this peice, especailly the bottom.

now pick up that pencil and lets see what else you can do

Hey guys! Thanks for your comments. I will reply tomorrow or something...gotta draw some more before I crash.

Still a wip. The composition was pretty much all over the place, so I'm trying to figure out how to direct the focus with saturation contrast, light and so on. Spontanous nonsense is really fun, but I'll try to put be more narrative from now on.

Love your work. I'm always drawn to things that have a distinct darkness to them, and these last two posts of yours contain that in spades. I like the last one the most though... There's a strange sort of felicity (i think thats the right word) to it... dark and happy. keep it up good stuff on the muscular studies as well!

Strong rendering as always man! And you're ever diligent with the studies (and thanks for the kick in the ass over in my SB... we'll duke it out when we meet... hehe)

One thing... I said a while back I dug your colors, and I do... but you're moving alot round in the dark brown/red with dark greens area (love those colors myself) but every now and then I try to migrate from that and pull some really saturated stuff or just some other colors out. Always good to experiment a bit So what I'm saying is... more colors in your colorstuff? Or something like that... it's late and I should be sleeping... hehe

    Back from Italy

Hey guys. Being at the school in Florence has been a blast so far. I can't wait to get back! Here are most of the drawings that I feel comfortable about posting. The first bunch are some of the 3hr long poses I do every day. I also joined a sunday group to do some short poses (3 to 5 mins). The pages in white are ballpoint scetches done in the model room and around San Siniato. I have been extremely slow with the bargues so far, but I intend to speed up the next trisemester.
