    OK, animation school!

    hi ya i'm new here. i'm glad that i found this forum cause i have an importent question.
    i want to study animation, i live in Phoenix AZ and the only known school around here is the Art Institude. now...what i want to know is, what do you think? is the AI have a good name? are people going out of their with the right knowlege for the animation career?
    or maybe should i move to CA and study in the Academy Of Art?
    i really don't know what to do, i need to decide before it will be to late. please help me.

    if you can go to a more specialized school for animation then do it! don't let location or money stop you.

    I'm currently at the Art Institutes, we'll honestly I didn't have a choice it was AI or nothing for me( to say) for what I wanted to do, I think AI has good qualified faculty and all that jazz. But after my 2nd term I came to the realization that they teach software and not always animation. You need to make the best of it for what you have. I always do research and read extra stuff outside of class just to feel like I'm up to speed with my competition. Now I have a high respect for AI I really do, I love the experiences I have at the school. But beware software is what you'll learn.

    I would recommend going to the Vancouver Film School. There are some intense programs there, which have produced some of the most impressive animations that I have ever seen a school produce.
