    Ty's CreativeSwipes

So i started this new class over in Sheridan with Thierry Lafontaine. Its a digital painting class useing Photoshop. Its going pretty well so far and from what he told us to expect, i dont think its going to be a waste of money either.

So one of the things he said was to take objects, white ones and black ones expecially and paint them against white backgrounds and with a light source on or above them. He said to spend about 30min on a minimum a day painting these objects.

So here is two marbles i painted in 30 min together.. All comments welcome.

    More to come.

Here is a quick Self Portrait i did of myself.
Took me 3hrs in Photoshop using my Bamboo Tablet.

I really enjoy painting traditionally and with colors, and this time i decided to try painting digitally the way i would with paints, and this is what i got. I feel it is more of a self portrait with the colors i used in this more than the fact of it being a "photo" of myself.

Im open to any comments and feedback for this.

Hey Tyleen, I think you should try to get rid of the harsh black lines in that last one.

    My crappy 2 cents

Calvin and Hobbes and a Viking

Here is some paintings i made a while ago.
Made some custom brushes in photoshop and i really enjoy using them.

I made the Viking/Saxon for a project in college thats over and done with now.
a front version to be comeing soon hopefully.

and i made the calvin and hobbes as a personal project. Calvins face was ref'd with a picture of my friend from work. Its interesting to see someones face that you know on a figure as popular as Calvin. =) .

Calvin and the viking were both painted on a single layer. Occasionally when i painted something i wasnt sure about i would add a layer, but once i was satisfied with it i merged the layer down.

Hobbes fur was a nightmare, painted it 3 times and i still have loads of room for improvement on him and the calvin and the viking.

but overall i really enjoyed painting them, more to come!
i just entered a 7Deadly Sins contest so starting work on that soon!

and still need to work on backgrounds...
