This screenshot is soo epic. There are more on the official website and the trailer is supposed to hit tonight. First one wasn't amazing but still a great game imo. This one looks really awesome plus it looks like it will be open world. Bring on the whiskey and waggon jacking, im gonna be murdering some outlaws!

I got it. Nazi, and Japanese spies invade the west and cowboys have to fight them off since the small town has no real connection to the outside world. Perfect!

Summer of fighting games is coming up!

Marvel VS. Capcom 2 (re-release for XBox Arcade and PSN): June 29
    Blazblue: June 30
King of Fighters 12: July 16

Personally, I can't wait for Blazblue since it's essentially the next gen version of Guilty Gear. I have never been a fan of KoF's fighting system but it looks stunning.

indeed you will. I read an interview with the developers, DaVinci in fact designs the dual wrist blades the assassin uses, as well as a flying machine (taken directly out of DaVinci's actual sketches) that you'll use to travel the city from time to time. Apparently they're really addressing a lot of the issues from the first game, I'm getting really giddy for it haha

I just found on the web that Eidos is going to do Thief 4. I loved all three parts so this one might be great too.

oh another game I'm excited for, I forget what it's called (some science term I think) but you'll have the ability to mess with time (I know, what's new? right) but they're actually doing some cool stuff with it, you can rewind time on dudes to put em back in a fetal state, forward time on locks to turn em into dust, rewind time on trees to put em back in a shrub state, then stand on em and forward time to make em grow so you can reach ledges and stuff. If done right it should make for some really cool and unique puzzle solving

Black Mesa Source is like Duke Nukem Forever (which recently died btw).

    God of War III
Red Faction Guerrilla - played the demo, it's pretty rad. Everything Killzone 2 should have been.

For everyone excited about Assassins Creed 2, here's some cool stuff I've been able to dig up about it (in case you don't wanna dig through gaming sites)

*you're starting as a new character in Renaissance era Italy
*you'll have dual wrist blades (designed by Leonadro DaVinci, who'll also be a contact thruought the game, as well as other historical figures)
*there's gonna be more weapon types
*there's gonna be more enemy types each with their own strengths and weaknesses
*combat is being improved, including the ability to disarm opponents and use their weapons against them, as well as improving hand to hand combat, you can also drop and leave weapons and pick new ones up
*Missions will be more varied instead of the previous assassination, flag capture, eavesdrop, pickpocket, etc. missions
    *will be more open world
    *you can swim!
*more places to hide than bails of hay, you can now blend in with any crowd, not just scholars, and guards will jab their weapons into places they think you might be hiding
*there will be night and day passages of time
*your actions can increase your notoriety in different cities
*the settings are based off of actual archetectual designs found in Italy, which will make for some cool freerunning areas

Overall sounds like they're addressing a lot of the issues of the first one and should be out late this year. Honestly though I hate getting excited about a game that's so far away it makes me so impatient

InFamous and Prototype. Each both have their perks, and both look like they're worth playing. Another game is Damnation, which is Western Steampunk, which I totally am down for 100%.

Mad World for the Wii is already out, and there's No More Heroes 2 which is upcoming.
Right now, I'll stick with Baroque, Wario Land: Shake It!, and Space Invaders Extreme (Best game of '08 and also coming to X-Box Live). Plus, Let's not forget Bayonetta.

Punch-Out!! for the Wii just came out and I definitely intend on at least renting that some time. Who doesn't like Punch-Out!!?

Games that aren't out yet that I'm looking forward to? Half-Life 2: Episode 3 and Starcraft II, of course. Also Pikmin 3, which Miyamoto announced last year but nobody has said anything about since. Same with Sin and Punishment 2 and the implied/half-announced Wii Zelda game in development. Actually, Nintendo is pretty good at saying close to nothing about some product and getting me interested. Hopefully at least some of that stuff will appear at E3 this year.

EDIT: Modern Warfare 2 looks pretty neat too.

I haven't heard ANYTHING about HL2 Ep3 aside from some brief mentions and like 2 screenshots of some concept art. I'm starting to wonder if they're actually working on a game or not

I think Yahtzee put it best "the purpose of episodic gaming is to release 1. shorter games for 2. cheaper prices 3. faster. And while Valve have got steps 1 and 2 down they seem to be fumbling with the third"

Valve has stated that Ep3 will finish the Half-Life 2 story arc, but there will still be a Half-Life 3. For this reason, I'm going to assume that it'll end just like HL and HL2 did: with a victory and another G-man intervention.
