    Once more unto the breach

It's been ages since I've posted work. So those topics are probably lost to the depths of CA by now. I'm back in school since then anyway so this is the perfect time for a fresh start.

I'm starting my illustration major in a few days. It's time to strap in and work hard. Here's stuff from throughout my foundation year:

Color theory work, sorry for the bad photo. I didn't have a scanner yet at this time:

Parody of a propaganda poster, for art history:

Still life from just yesterday. I still find gouache a pain in the ass but I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

    Portraits.

    (that one was gouache)

And just for a little variety, letterforms and a box from design class:

    A trainworks theme:

A wayang (shadow puppets) theme, and the box mock-up I used it on.

Thanks for taking the time to look ! I'd love to hear any thoughts you may have.

Whee, it's been a while. I'm not dead yet. I've started getting work back from my lecturers. I'll try to post them up as I get them back. Here's a few pages from my class sketchbook.

The pics with notes attached are book study, the rest are from livesketching.

I feel like there's a problem with my strokes. A couple of my lecturers have mentioned it too. They feel really hard and messy and the whole sketch/pic ends up looking bitty. I've been trying to tighten that, but so far haven't noticed much improvement. If anyone knows any good exercise suggestions, I'm all ears ; )

Two pages from a comic workshop that we had on campus just before break. These are the rough pencils, I'll try to post the clean version later.
